Sherry,

This is a blank fire on Ellis Crosby's part. Don't get nervous. Several instances are there in this forum that show how Ellis tries to get people scared while collecting debts. And this is illegal.

That is because Ellis Crosby had to undergo legal prosecution and the situation is so bad that they had to file bankruptcy even-

The thing that needs your attention is the payday loan. These payday loans are very costly, try to pay it off as early as possible. Contact your lender to work out some payment plans and get rid of this debt cycle.

I had a pay day loan. ellis, Crosby got a hold of it. A man named Micheal called and i received all the same threats listed above. I wired $500.00 in July to them. Well yesterday November 3, I received a call from another collection agency stating that i still owed the debt. I had to fax them my wire for the bill so hopefully i will no longer be bothered. I would like to know what they did with my $500.

judy,

Ellis Crosby was suspended by ACA for 90 days for the unfair activities they used to collect debt. During this suspension period, they were asked to stop all collection activities and it was effective from June 01, 2005.

But Ellis did not care for this at all and continued with its unfair activities as usual. You sent your payment to them during this period. So it might be assumed that they did not send the money to Original Creditor.

There are instances in this forum that show ECA stop paying original creditors and that is because creditors are reassign the collection task to some other agencies.

Try to negotiate with the new collection agency and settle your debts. You can show the documents of your earlier payments to them or to original creditor, but I am not sure if it can help you anyway.
