Encore collections passing debt to other CA - is this harassment?

i have an on going situation with encore right now and im here to tell you that they can threaten you all they want to but don't be fearful of them. all they do is prey off the misfortunes of others. then they harass you day and night. to stop the calls, my advice to you is to disconnect your home phone and just use your cell. all they can do then is to send letters. you cannot be jailed because of debt. they try to scare you but don't be scared!!

I had this lady call me this morning again! Saying I was a dead beat who should pay my bills. I told her that I am not a dead beat but am diabled at this point and waiting on the process, She said if I was diasabled I would still pay my bills. I told her to get off my back I am waiting for the process obviously this is some IGNORANT EMPLOYEE who has no Idea how long this process takes. So help me Ihave had great credit for years and now it is screwed . From one bill.... What is the sense to pay it they have already wrote me off and the credit is shot. Like it is my choice to be in this situation. The people they hire are so nasty and actually this little nut that called me was actually eating and had a mouth full of food I kept saying what are you saying I can't understand you. Must have been breakfast for her. I told her to send my final bill to 1600 pennsylvania ave. Because her president said he would take care of everything. Not who I voted for... Now all he is doing in Bankrupting our government and I may not even be able to get disablity. I asked over and over for their address and she would not give it to me . She knows what she is getting ...(THE LETTER)... THANKS FOR LISTENING TO ME VENT GUYS... HAVE A GOOD DAY!

Do you have a phone number form them? You can google the phone number and see if any hits come up.

If you want immediate results, Fax a Cese and Desist to them...I know it's better to send it certified mail, but the fax works with them. If they start calling again after you send the Fax, then send it Certified.

I sent my fax two weeks ago...not one call since then. I did call them two days ago and asked them about a payment plan on my debt, and they noted that they had a Cease and Desist on File.

They have an emplyoee by the name of Danny George.
This guy is a FREAk and very threatening over the phone!
Be very aware of this jerk off! This isn't really the way to approach people at all!

Attempting many of the numbers for Encore will port you through a loophole and you end up entangled in the phone web of Midland Credit Management. These corporate pigs are under the impression they can hide in their lush offices while there “Prey” (all consumers caught in there debt traps) get transferred to India based, outsourced companies. Imagine what might happen if all consumers had the physical address of their hide outs and mailed all complaints, questions and disputes (CERTIFIED MAIL) directly to the source… instead of being outsourced (AKA outsmarted)

Hi Tamann

Did Arrow Financial provide you with a written confirmation of your settlement agreement? If so, did the written agreement include a statement that they would remove all negatives from your credit report?

I ask because you I am curious if they violate such written agreements (I am dealing with them now)

and because if it is not stated the CA does not need to change anything except to add PAID to your collection account ..which basically has no effect on your credit rating

i too had great credit until we losy most of our hours at work. there is no explaining this to encore. i get calls every ten minutes from encore. if i could pay it i would have paid it on time when i normally did. do they not see the economy is in the dump?

This is a warning to *you*. Be careful and follow the law or some smart debtor will sue you and make *you* pay *them* $1000!

Encore is without question the most unprofessional business I have ever spoken with. They have called us 100's of times (literally) regarding a debt that doesnt even exist, for a product that wasn't ever purchased, for a credit line that we never had. It doesn't matter what I do, fax them proof, change our phone number, they won't stop harassing us.

Sue them.

I dont know where to start, we went from $5000 a month to $1800. I dont what to answer my phone because of the collectors, But yet we need to answer it in order to get a job!!

I am trying to stop encore from calling my house. They are trying to reach someone who stayed with us for about two months. He left six months ago. They call constantly. The worst is they call every Sunday morning at 8:00 and since this is the only morning I get to sleep past 5:00 it is annoying. They do not believe me when I say he is not staying here any longer. I have tried talking to supervisors and they hang up on me and then encore calls right in less than 15 min. What do I do?
