I've also been getting these annoying calls. They are calling for someone who has the same name, but lives in another state. Each time they call they tell me that they are taking me off the call list. They have not, so it's time to turn the tables. Encore is owned by a company called Convergys. The president and CEO is named Dave Dougherty, and he lives in Cincinatti. The next time I recieve a call from Encore, then Dave will be recieving a midnight call from me!

Hey, I work in Cincinnati. I could find out where he lives and have someone put instant mashed potatoes on his lawn. With all this rain we've been getting I'm sure it would be a good laugh for us!!!!l

LOL!!!!

000-000-0000 or Unavailable aka 888-785-7719 8/22/2009 Nisha Johnson, collection center.

********FIGHT BACK*************

I sent FIA a Cease & Desist letter on 8/17/2009. My cell phone documents them calling from 7am to 12:15 am. They call 5-12 times per day. They have continued to phone even after they received my letter on 8/19/2009. I have a postal receit and have contacted an attorney.
***Here is the Cease & Desist verbage***

In addition to these issues, since August 10, 2009, FIA, BofA and or it’s collection partners have phoned me repeatedly and continuously as many times as 12 times per day with auto dialers and person to person phone calls, asking the same questions without regard to previous conversations. The FDCPA considers repeat calls as harassment. [15 USC 1692d] 806(5)

Pursuant to my rights under federal debt collection laws, I am requesting that you cease and desist all telephone communication with me, any 3rd parities, as well as my family, friends and places of employment I may have in the future, in relation to this and all other alleged debts you claim I owe.

You are hereby notified that if you do not comply with this request, I will immediately file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the California Attorney General’s office. Civil and criminal claims will be pursued

Encore collection agency has been calling for over a week for someone that we do not even know. We have told them this time and time again and they continue to call. When we try to explain this to the representative they get rude or just hang up. Have tried to speak with their supervisor and they ask why you want to talk to the sup and then just hang up.

You have to send them the Cease & Desist order in writing for it to be enforceable.

I have a friend that was going through the same. He ask me if I could assist him in stopping Encore from annoying him. I was able to gather legal documents from law books that stopped Encore dead in their tracks. If you wish to learn more you may email me at

These jerks are calling for someone who is not listed on my phone number, does not have the same last name, and has not owned this number for at least 8 years. My solution is two fold.

1. I have filed two complaints with the FCC and will continue to do so for each call received from now on.

2. I will call their 866 number twice a day until I no longer hear from the. No, I'm not talking to them. I just wait until their operator comes on, realizes I am not speaking, and disconnects. WHY? Because they are having to pay for these calls.

They want to harass me. I'll spend their money.

I am a collections agent from ENCORE. By now, all of you must've realized how LEGAL, FAIR and RELIABLE Encore is, basically because we still EXIST! Delinquent accounts needs to be paid the soonest time possible since the moment customers signed a contract for a certain credit line, it implies all the obligations and responsibilities of paying it up to the last cent. Please don't be mislead by debt consolidation, none of it is helping you. At the end of the day, it is still you who pays your debt, we are just here to help you out hasten that payment that you might have forgotten or deliberately evaded for that matter. Point is, GET YOUR BILLS PAID!
