Default Focus Recievable Management

These people keep calling my parents so I called them back with the number they left. I am not working but I am trying to pay off my debts, by sending money orders with money that I make doing what small jobs I get. I offered to pay the 250 dollar debt they say I owe by sending 25 dollar money orders each month. They say that they cannot accept a money order even if it were 100 dollars a month, and that I had to have a bank account number to give them. I have no bank account. They said that I had to get one from a relative or someone which I can't. So they said that the account would sit until further action is done to me. How can I pay this debt if they would not accept money orders? Other places have and do accept money orders from me. I have paid off some of my debts this way. Is Focus Recievable Management legitimate or is it a less than honest business and what can I do to help this situation.

Focus Receivables Management is a company that handles commercial and consumer collection services for businesses. Focus offers pre-collection letters, skip tracing, asset location, and customized reports. Target markets include the auto, financial services, retail, and telecommunication industries; clients include such big names as BellSouth, Chrysler, DIRECTV, Discover Financial Services, and Wachovia. Focus Receivables Management was founded in 2001 and operates offices in Marietta, Georgia, and Tampa, Florida, they sound legit,Im not sure why they would not want your money, and wanted checking account information seems odd, unless they want to try a debit you account.I would contact them a speak to a supervisor or manager, sometimes that does to trick.
Heres the contact information

Do you have the details of this account in writing from them? You must get sure that this company is the one to receive money from you.

Don't give your personal information in any case before you see the accurate picture of your account. A legitimate business will open other payment options if you are reluctant to give your personal info.

If you find hard dealing with this agency, take some professional help. The experts know how to speak in their language and will make necessary arrangements on behalf of you.

Default Focus Recievable Management

When I called them I did ask for an address in which to send the money order to and they refused to give it to me. Maybe I should contact the original company in which I owe or call this place back and ask for validation of the debt. Thank you for your advice.

You can definitely pay your creditor if they have assigned this collection agency to collect the debt from you. Explain the situation that the agency is failing to honor your debt validation request. They will make the necessary arrangements for you so that the account gets paid off. After it's paid, they will also report to the bureaus.

Default unauthorized withdrawls

I have been on "hold" waiting for an operator for over an hour. Focus Receivable is taking out unauthorized withdrawls from my account and I can't seem to get ahold of anyone to correct this. I authorized 2 payments to be taken out to pay off a bill and today there was a withdrawl on my account for $4.95(electronic check). At NO TIME DID I AUTHORIZE THIS AMOUNT!!!!!This was NOT part of either payment and I DID NOT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THIS AMOUNT BEING TAKEN OUT!!!!!!I check my account daily and if they go ahead and take out unauthorized amounts, my account will be overdrawn. Since nobody seems to be taking phone calls-I will be calling the better business bureau. I worried about this when the arrangement was set up and asked repeatedly if this would happen and was told if it did THEY(focus receivable) would get in trouble. Would this be before OR after the overdraft charges??????

Hi celestialskye13, tell your bank about this withdrawal. They have the power to dispute the debits with the company. If nothing comes verified by Focus Receivable, the amount can be reverted back. You need to talk with your bank first. And, file a complaint with your AG's office if the debit is proven unauthorized.

I also called this company from my caller ID and soke with a John there. He requested personal inforamtion from me and I told him if he really needs the inforamtion he will write me on a company letterhead and I will respond the same way back to him. He told me could not do that and I told him if he can't then there is nothing we have to talk about and I hung up on him.

Default FOCUS RECEIVABLES MANAGMENT

Do not give them your account number because they will debit your account unauthorized. My mom set up payment arrangments to be debited from her account on the 27th of sept. They took 4.95 as soon as they hung up the phone on th 8th of sept. And then took $25 on the 14th.of sept.. Because they took the money before they were supposed to , my mom had to pay 95.00 in overdrafts.

Default unauthorized withdrawl

I agee with Arkansas. Do not ever give them your account info. I had an agreement with them and it was fine until July of this year. I was told by one of their employees that it wasnt good enough anymore and that I had to make a settlement. I could not due to my husband being in Iraq at the moment. I have 4 young children and only his income for us to live on. He stated that I had to pay a large amount and then could resume the payment arrangement I had been doing until my husband was home from Iraq. Well they took out more then they were supposed to on the 5th of September and it only left my with $69.00 in my account to live on for the rest of the month. I happen to bank at a very nice and friendly place and they have been so wonderful. Unfortunatly the way they take the money they couldnt refund it for me but they told me where I could go. The people at Focus had told me they could not do online bill pay that I had to either give them a debit card or my check info just like the KFK persons problem. They used random check numbers to take out the money from my account resulting in me being forced to close my account and reopen a new one. If you have problems with this place call or write to the department of financial institutions because what they are doing is illegal and they need stopped.

Default Focus Recievable

I talked to a person there and was told I could call in and make my payments with my bank debit card and it was all set up and then two days later someone else called and told me I had to give them my bank account informationn or they would persue it legally. It is for $148.00 & it is my final bill for direct tv. I got my final bill from direct tv three weeks ago???? Well any way I would not give him the information and he told me I would still receive calls paying the way I had discussed. after I hung up they called my home 36 times in 6 hours?????????? They need to be reported and the companies that use this agency and those companies need to give people a chance to pay their bills!!!!!!!

You aren't going to get sued for 148 bucks because it would cost them more to sue you than it would for them to just collect the debt.

Course that's just an opinion not a fact.

Default making arrangements failing with Focus Receivable Management

I am trying to pay a big debt that I am responsible for. The account is under my daughters name and co-signed by a family member. They have requested my bank account number, I told them that I would not give it to them. They then requested that I give them $1,500.00 by December 22, 2006. I can't pay that much. I have the feeling that they will not accept a monthly payment. What options do I have?. I do want to pay, but I cannot give them what they want and I do not want to borrow......

My advice would to send in what you can when you can.

As for payments being taken before an assigned date, I would get a lawyer.

They had te nerve to call my neighbor! She came over while on the phone & I listened to the call. They were asking if she was my neighbor, etc. She refused to give them any information telling them she sisn't know who they were or what it was bout etc, and they hung up. About 5 seconds later, they called here........3 times in 5 minutes. I called my lawyer and he said they are not allowed to contact anyone about a debt. And if I do talk to them, have them send me a detailed letter and he will handle it.
I was terrified that they would come to my house! Lawyer said he doubts that very much, but just in case that happens to call the police.
How can they get away with this harassment?
