Here it is May 16, 2006 and I've been getting calls from the 678-228-3415 number twice daily for a few weeks now. If I answer it's one of two recordings. It either says enter your pin number, or it's a guy saying he'll be in his office. When I don't answer, it goes to my cell phone's voicemail. No company is ever identified.

I have been getting the calls for a few weeks, practically every day. I finally called them (from my work phone, don't want any jump-toll calls on my home account). After a couple of minutes of waiting I got a person (lady) on the line. I told her that I am constantly getting phone calls and messages from the company, and that I have no idea why. She asked for the phone number I am being bothered on, I gave it to her. She said that they are trying to reach such-and-such person (she actually told me a name of somebody). I told her that it is not me and she said that she is going to remove the number from the call list. I hope I am not getting any more calls from them.

I just called the 678-228-3415 number from my cell phone where I was getting these calls. After few mins I was on hold for CS, so I pressed 0 couple of times and got transferred to an operator. Told the operator that I just bought the new cell phone and I am getting calls from them which are not supposed to be for me and that I wanted my name removed from their list. She promptly did it and assured me that I'd not get the calls again. Its my first day since that call and looks like its fixed.

WE HAVE BEEN HARRASSED BY THIS COMPANY.
Before we moved, the dish was already up at the condo. When we ordered Direct TV, they had to remove the old one and install us a brand new one. When we received a bill, we had been billed to remove it. We are in dispute with Direct TV over this matter and they commissioned Focus Receivable to collect this debt which is less than $100. As a matter of principle, we are not going to pay this.
Focus Receivable is attempting to caolect this debt.
They call all day everyday.
Even After hours they use a machine to call us. When we answer we hear that fax noise.
I have written a letter to Bill Strang, Vice President of Focus Receivables. I used Title VIII, Debt Collection Practices as the foundation of my letter.
This Title explains when collectors can call and the posture they must take when making these calls. It further says that after sending them a letter the call MUST stop. I sent a very strong letter to them and copies to Robert andrews, COngressman - Diane Allen, Senator- DIrect TV- Marietta Georgia Better Business Bureau. I'll let you know how I make out.

I gave them my debit card number for payment on the 15th of last month. I didn't make it to the bank in time and the collector called my cell phone (my only phone) and asked me when funds would be available. I told her to try again the next day. The money was there, but the girl never ran my card. NOW they're calling me at my mother's house (WTF???) leaving nasty messages even after my parents have asked them to stop calling. I am in charge of Credit and Collections for my job and I pay my bills. I owned up to this one and wanted to pay. But, the a***oles didn't run the payment. NOT my problem anymore.

The same "focus receivable" company calls my house dozens of times a day. When I do pick up they ask for my name then when my husband ask can he take a message they hang up on him abruptly. When I call them to tell them that I will call the BBB on them they laugh and ask me for the number so they can call the BBB that is when I realized that it was a scam.

I've been receiving these calls as well for a fellow named either raul gutierrez or rafael gutierrez. If this person is on this board then maybe we can get somewhere with this, otherwise if anyone comes across him tell him to give these people the correct phone number. I am quite sure this person either gave a false phone number or i am using his old one. its pissing me off though and i am actually getting a live representitive talking to me, but he is rude and hangs up as soon as he can tell it isn't the person he's after.

These folks from "focus" were trying to obtain info on my small business. Like the person before me, I'm not interested in being put on hold when they call me & so I hung up too! If there is next time....I will tell them any further correspondence can be directed to my mail box. At least I may know what or why they are bothering me.

Focus Receivables is located in Georgia. They are extremely rude and abusive in their calls. Shut them down- they will just pop up somewhere else.

They are at it again--called my cell number numerous times, I get through to a hold message that identifies the company as Focus collections, then get hung up on.

I just spoke with the FTC, which handles this sort of thing. If a debt collections agency is calling your home looking for a person who does not live there (and whom you probably don't even know), get their address, and write them a cease and desist letter that mentions the Fair Debt Collections Act. Explain that the person they are seeking does not live at that number, and that if they contact your number again, you will bring a lawsuit under the Fair Debt Collections Act.

I'm told this backs them off permanently.
