rugratdrpepper,
Forum members have posted negative feedbacks on Interstate Wire Compliance Bureau. They are trying to collect money using scaring techniques. If creditor files suit against the debtor, it goes to civil court, so no one will come to arrest you at your door.
It will be better if you can contact your lender and make some payment plan directly with them. Keep us posted.

Interstate Compliance that claims they are with the State of Wyoming Compliance Dept Don Freedman phone #866-201-4603 has called me at my job asking for the name of my atty and threating to have me arrested. Everytime this man calls me I make sure I file a complaint with the fdcpa for this man and company broke several laws
If he calls and threatens you call the FDCPA at 877-382-4357

tiffy,
You need to contact the Wyoming State Compliance Department and let them know what is going on and find out if they are licensed. Which we all know the answer to that.

Tiffy,
Forum members have posted negative feedback on them. They have broken laws several times in past also. Let me tell you, if a debtor runs away from responsibility and creditor sues the person, the case will go to civil court, so no one can come to arrest you, right? These are scaring tactics collectors use to extract money, nothing else.
However, can you locate which of your accounts they are handling? Contact the original creditor and get it settled with them directly. Also do what Tammy has suggested, this is important. Keep us posted.

I had taken a couple of payday loans out over the internet to get my car fixed. For the next several months they took huge fees out of my bank account. I soon got into serious finacial trouble and had to close my bank account because i could not keep up on rent, etc. Now I am getting harrassing calls from Interstate wire compliance bureau saying I am going to be arrested for internet fraud. I would be willing to make small payments but they want one large sum. What do I do?

LocaLisa113, be careful of Interstate Wire Compliance Bureau. They are not a legitimate company and have many complaints against them. Check out the various threads in this forum as it is loaded with others' complaints.
Under the federal laws, you have the legal rights to ask this CA to validate the debt. Samples of validation letter are available in this forum. Send this letter through certified mail with return receipt requested. Keep everything documented in a file for records.
After receiving your validation letter, they will be forced to itemize the details of the debt received from the OC. You will then understand that the company is making a legitimate collection. If they fail, you will protect yourself from getting ripped off.

I am glad I read more into this site. I have gotten calls from this number and have been hesitant to call because I don't want to get caught up in the same hum-drum crap. I do admit I do owe the loan company but do not know which company they are referring to. I had a similar situation last year back in April and May where this guy from Florida claiming to be from some legal service or law firm threatened to have me arrested if I didn't pay them...he told me the fee was $749 so I managed to get them $250. When I called to confirm they received the payment, the balance had gone up $90. I managed to pay the rest in two more payments getting advances on my paycheck and borrowing from a friend...when I later learned that I should have tried to deal with the loan company directly.
Are these people legitimate? Should I attempt to call them?

Hi BlaqueRose
Welcome to the forums.
You can always call the company and inquire about the accounts for which they are asking money. Remember, if they have your details, the company must give it to you in writing first. It's your hard earned money and you should assure that it goes into the right hands. The number that you have mentioned belongs to a collection agency and they have been famous for their illegal actions. Make sure that you are prepared before calling them. It will also be good if you can use a pay phone rather than using your home phone. Otherwise, your number will get into their system and they can misuse it.
Do not agree to pay anything until you have the complete details of your accounts. Send a debt validation letter if the company fails to give you the info. This way, you will cover your legal basis.
Regards
Roxette

After finding and reading various information on payday loans, some of my doubts were clarified with the fact that it is true that payday loan companies can only bring you to civil court and not criminal -- however, I do know if bad check writing is a person's habit, then they can be brought to trial or something like that. However, I am a single parent trying to make ends meet. I am already have my paycheck garnished from one payday loan, which I know about and have been in touch with so I am ok with that. However, things have happened in the last two years which nearly cost me my house and utilities, and then my water heater busted, so money was more than tight, it was nearly invisible and with caring for my daughter, I had to do what was necessary, and since I couldn't get these loan companies to understand my financial situation, one thing lead to another...and here I am, barely keeping my head above water. I will call them from a pay phone, and ask them to send all the necessary documentations of the accounts in question before agreeing to any payment. Again thanks for your advice.

Hold on. They cannot garnish your paycheck without wining judgment against you. Did they file any suit and win it? I doubt. Chances are they have contacted your payroll department and started taking money from your paycheck on the basis of voluntary wage assignment signed by you. If this is the case, then you have the right to cancel wage assignment and make other payment arrangement if you wish.
You can consolidate your unsecured debts along with payday loans. This will lower your monthly payments and gradually stop harassing calls.

The company, located in Culver City, CA did file a suite. I had mailed them one payment, but couldn't finish the rest because of other matters beyond my control so early February word came down from them, I even have copies of the court papers files, that so much money had to be taken out of my check. The payroll director talked to them on my behalf and explained that in no way could I afford to give them what they wanted at one time, and got them to agree to a $70 payment until July. It was directly with the company and not no collection agency.

OK...I spoke to a Russell Crenshaw there at the Interstate Wireless...or whatever they are called, and he says that the file was scheduled to be downloaded at 2:00 to my state...now, I have to really search for those records as I am not sure if I kep them and Money Gram says it takes 10 business days and $20 for them to research and retrieve the information. Because I know I paid them between March, April and May with the last payment on June 22, 2005 for about $324 or $374...I asked him (Russell) to send me something in the mail, and he says that he can't because the file is scheduled to come to my state, and the charges he says are identical to what the guy in Jacksonville, Florida said...for Bahamas Marketing Group (BMG). What I need to do is try to find that guy's name back in Florida and see what he can tell me. And then he tries to tell me that perhaps I forgot or made a mistake, when I'm telling him that I paid them. Can somebody help me...his number is 866 201-4603, Ext. 208. I need more time to prove myself...my e-mail is...(tears)

I spoke to Leslie at fdcpa and she gave me some information regarding sending them a dispute letter...thank you guys for that bit of information. In the meantime, I will continue to seek my records. She also told me that Jacoby & Meyers own them, does anyone have any information on that, and has anyone done business with BMG and made payments via a law firm in Jacksonville on their behalf? Kindly let me know.
