If a claim has been paid off in 2002 and I file a dispute NOW to reflect a change in the account status that it has been paid and satisfied.....EXPERIAN, shows 'paid/satisfied' but put KD on the current month that I filed the dispute. I disputed the KD and they tell me it is a 'claim, paid in full'. This contradicts their own defination of a CLAIM- request of demand for payment. How can it be a KD 'Claim' if there is NOTHING TO REQUEST OR DEMAND???????? I have disputed til I am blue in the face, I quit, it keeps placing the KD on the current month I dispute.....Suggestions?

EXPERIAN IS DOING THIS TO ME AS WELL!
Due to financial hardships and the housing bust we avoided forclosure by aggreeing to a short-sale.
We felt good about ourselves... Plus the loan was an FHA insured which meant that Countrywide WAS PAID in FULL!
All other reporting agencies are just listing as Paid/Settled/0 balance but EXPERIAN listed the FHA short sale as KD which is the same as FORECLOSURE in Experians terms because Countrywide mortgage left remarks on my credit report stateing "Yes - Leagally Paid but short of the full balance"
Because of that not totally correct Statement from CountryWide, our Score dropped 20 points and Experian is the only agency placing a KD or equivalent of FORCLOSURE on my report!
Thats just WRONG! How can the consumer benefit from economic stimulous if one of the Credit Agencies makes us look like American Peasants! Basically telling us to "Let'em Eat Cake!"

i am trying to repair my credit and kd appears in my credit report, i've been making payments on that account every month and the kd shows every month, is that normal?
My fiancee has bad credit and we are trying to fix it. He has a lot of things that have been charged off. Do we need to pay those or should we just let them go?

I filled Bankruptcy back in 2003. My credit report shows KD for most of those accounts. I was never late prior to the filing, so is it true they have to update and not report negative? Most of the other accounts state ND, so I assume this is something that can be corrected. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
By signing up for counseling session, your provided details (Name, Email ID and Phone No.) will be forwarded to the company advertising on the DebtCC. However, you have no obligation to use their services.
Some creditors and collection agencies refuse to lower the pay off amount, interest rate, and fees owed by the consumer.
Creditors/collection agencies can make collection calls and file lawsuits against the consumers represented by the debt relief companies.
Debt relief services may have a negative impact on the consumer's creditworthiness and his overall debt amount may increase due to the accumulation of extra fees.
The amount which the consumer saves with the use of debt relief services can be regarded as taxable income.

Several months ago someone posted a site called masteringmydebt.com. I found the information very useful.
They also have these financial calculators that show you how to get out of debt.
