Somebody please help me! These folks called my husband at work and claimed to be an attorney. He told them he couldn't talk and they screamed at him for he hung up. I called them and they told me if I didn't pay up they would serve my husband with "papers" that afternoon. I told them I didn't have the full amount but I would pay $1000.00. They took my bank info and then told me they would collect the rest on June 1st. I told them I didn't have the money and they said it better by in my account on the 1st. I need help, I am in debt and it keeps getting worse....my 17 year old son ran up my cell bill ($7000) which I paid, my car is broken down (and I have no money to fix). Someone please give me some advice! I'm just ready to give up!

If you gave them your bank info, you need to contact the bank immediately and close that account. They may very well try to take all they can get on the first. Close that account as fast as you can and never, ever give a collector your banking information.

Please sign up on this site, if you haven't already, to have a counselor call you to try to help you with your debt. They can take some of the load off your mind and give you some advice you will be able to manage.

The OC is Sears and I tried to call them today and was told (by recording) to call back during business hours. I only have $1050.00 in that account, should I let them take it and let Sears know they collected $1050.00 or should I close account before then are able to cash check?

I actually worked for this piece of "Crap" company. It was as unprofessional working w/ these people as it was when they called people, the owner brian was a complete jerk and only cared about going out and drinking every day after work w/ his so called "managers". needless to say, i quit after 3 months. p.s. Even had a xmas party and we had to pay for our own drinks, great place to have worked for

When you talk to that company, you are always talking to someone new every time you call. They say you cannot pay monthly payments to them too pay off your bill, because this not a credit card collections company but a company owned by investors, attorneys and investigators. How do pay off such a large sum of money when there no way to attain so much in so little time, especially when you are on a fixed income and have bad credit. They say people do it everyday. Is there any recourse? Any suggestions...

You people should be ashamed of yourselves, why dont you quit crying about how you are getting treated and just pay your debt!!!!!!!!!!! If they would have the wrong number or you dont owe a bill you should just cooperate with them to take your number out they still have a job not an easy one at that.....

Guest you are among the number of so called guests telling us to pay our bills. We do pay our bills if it is our legal debt and if we are treated in accordance with the law.If you can't handle that, then eventually you as a collector will be sued in person. Then a judge of the court system can tell you why you f'd up and why you are now paying our bills.

If everybody on here paid their bills their wouldn't be any collection agency & the reason your bill ended up in a collection agency is because YOU didn't pay IT. IT is YOUR Obligation to PAY your debt............It sounds like you need to be babysat, need someone, somebody,a bill collector to remind you of your bills, Now if the debt isn't vaild {fraud and or stolen} just dispute it and cooperate with your friendly bill collector....they will help remove from your credit....Remember you need to give RESPECT TO GET RESPECT,DONT treat the other person on other line like shit and will get same in return..............

Guest I don't get calls as my bills are paid on time.I did have a cordial professional collector call my home about five years ago. They followed the law and provided proof it was my debt and we spoke in a courteous manner. The end result was they were paid in full within 24 hours. Follow the law and you get paid.It is not that difficult to understand.

A recorded message has been left on my answering machine for a couple of months by a Roger Bass. So one day I called them back. What a joke these people are rude and unproffesional. This is a complete scam and anyone who has paid them one red cent has basically been extorted. My new motto is Roger Bass can kiss my ass.

They have been calling without stating who they are looking for and so i finally called 'em back. Never talked to anyone but you should have heard all the yelling and cheering and applause in the background! It sounds like a sweatshop scam or something.

I told the last jerk I talked to (who would not say what it was in reference to) that if it happened again I was going to file a complaint with tech FTC and my state attorney. He sad "it's taken care" of and hung up.

There has been no contact in writing from anyone about any old debts, and any that were outstanding have long been dealt with.

These people are crooks plain and simple. Any reputable collector will contact you in writing long before it ever gets to a phone call.

One thing that you can do is tell them that you flatly refuse to deal with them under any circumstances and that you are notifying the people you actually owe the debt to (if there even is one!) of that. That is a legal way to put them straight out of business.

Don't be intimidated! I notice that no one on here has said that they have actually had any legal paperwork served on them from these creeps, and that when contested to the credit bureaus the reports were corrected.

If they call back... they haven't seen RUDE yet!

Take heart my friends. Leading Edge Recovery Solutions (LERS) got a little taste of thier own medicine this weekend. I've beed dealing with them for a few weeks, putting up with their crap, and I finally took action. I warned several of the collectors to stop the calls, but they ignored me, thinking I was at their mercy. Well, this last weekend, 'some-one' hacked into their voice mail system and changed dozens of messages. Callers were no longer greeted with the standard: "you have reached the voice mailbox of..." Instead they got a message stating the person they are calling is a low-life moron that McDonalds wouldn't even hire for flipping burgers so they became a collector" Other messages referred to coming out of the closet and relationships with barnyard animals.
I'm not advocating that anybody should do what is described above, as it seemed to force the company to shut down it's voice mail system up until at least today, and probably prompted numerous calls from offended customers that called in and reached these messages. Just wanted those of you out there that have been subjected to their harrassment to know that Leading Edge got a taste themselves. Their numbers are: 800-608-5440,
800-608-5432, 800-663-4707

I hadn't read all of the posts regarding LERS when I posted my comments a few min's ago. Regrding your comment about calling and hearing all the noise and yelling Blackie, You should have called on Sat when they discovered their system had been taken over. As of noon today, they still aren't transfering calls to anybody's extension in fear that there might be lingering messages they haven't caught yet. I'm not aware of a MR. Bass, but there is a 'Santana' who's probably not too happy today after finding out he's publicly admitted to some very humiliation acts. Some other tactic that have been engaged in aren't suitable for posting here, and I am also taking the proper legal actions and moves as well and have info for anybody that needs direction as to what to do or say.

I was getting calls from this company, nobody was there when I picked up although I probably was just hanging up before it transferred to a bill collector since that's how they typically work (my dad used to do this). Anyhow, I was curious and found all kinds of negative comments about the company on the internet, lawsuits, complaints, etc. I had to call because I wanted to know why they were calling me, i have no outstanding bills. I called and asked for Alexander Jessup, the operator told me he was out to lunch (no surprise). She asked me what phone number he called me at. I provided it to her, and then she asked if I was or knew a lady's name. I told her I did not and she confirmed the number and I told hre that was mine, but didn't know that lady. She said she'd take me off the calling list, I shouldn't receive anymore calls. Actually, very pleasant, I was ready to do battle. These guys sound like bloodsuckers so if you do end of dealing with them, just make sure you got your S#%$ together. Make notes after every conversation and do your legwork before calling them to make sure they don't know more information about you than you know about yourself. You probably be best to find out as much specifics you can from them about what you owe (if you're the correct person) and then ask them how you can get a hold of them so you can look into this further. If they keep you on the line, just hang up, they'll call you back.

Good Luck
