With all of the loan scams that are out there preying on people with bad credit, there are some things to remember. I know people get desperate (I myself have been) but be careful when applying for loans or responding to an "approval" offer for a loan.

A legitimate lender will never ask for money in advance. It is illegal for them to ask for money or receive payment before the loan is given to you. They will never guarantee that you will get a loan before you apply for one.

Never give your bank account number or social security number to anyone over the phone or on the internet without knowing the company or the reason for needing such information.

Always get things in writing. If need be, have an attorney look it over.

Following these simple rules can help beat these scammers at their own game!!!

I never really second-thought giving out my SSN...now there are other names attached to my social and i'm in the process of getting that worked out. I live for the day of 100% total security! If there will be any!
