Default LVNV Funding

I work for a company that collects funds for LVNV Funding. They are indeed a collection agency. Example: If you ran up a Sears account but Sears had no luck getting their monies, they then sell the account to LVNV Funding, if LVNV isn't able to collect it we try to collect it for them. When we collect it, LVNV gets the monies, Sears already got the money from LVNV so technically YOUR money is owed to LVNV, once the account is paid off, you CBR will show both by Sears and LVNV that the account is either paid in full or paid as agreed.

Default LVNV FUNDING INTEREST

LVNV Funding does have the right to add interest--it is new though. Some company will make an offer of settlement though usually around 80%--that'll take care of interest and some of what you owe.

Default Added fees/interest

Hello all,
first off, I just want to say that this is a GREAT forum, so much valuable information!! So glad I came across this board. You guys/gals are great!

I too have recently (11/30) been contacted by a law firm specializing in debt retrieval who is working with LVNV. Here is the deal, LVNV acquired my debt from another CA on 11/30/06 - the balance was 4200.00 when it left the previous CA's hands. Now, a week later, this law firm representing LVNV claims that the balence is 4975.00. I call this firm and asked them to give me the specific address to LVNV (since as you know, there are several), and said that I cannot contact them directly, and that I can only deal with this firm?? I explained that I wanted to send LVNV a debt validation form to verify the balance, and they said to send it to them (the firm). The first thing this firm said to me when I questioned the balance was that I had a pre-interest loan. I looked at the terms/conditions of my CC company and nowhere did I see any reference to a 'pre-interest loan' I need a search for the term on the web and nothing . . . I just don't understand how the balance can jump $700 dollars in 1 week. Just to confirm the reply above, does a CA have the right to add interest? If so, what is the maxium interest that they can add?

Thanks in advance!

Default Wachovia Bank Bill

Hello Sirs,

My name is Gary W. King and I have never had any dealings with Wachovia Bank at all. In fact I have never stepped a step in Wachovia Bank and have never did anything on-line with Wachovia Bank. It claims I have an account number of 544606001000879476 and the balance of $2291.19 and I am not paying something I dont know a dang thing about! I have been under Identity theft and I am sure this is what this is. I have never delt with Wachovia Bank in anyway!

I believe they are just reaching out and grabbing my name from the internet as far as address and all!

I am sorry to be so harsh, but when I dont owe them, I dont owe them. I dont know how in the world they have on me!

Thanks
Gary W. King

Lots of luck dealing with them. I keep receiving collection calls on these matters, and tried to settle the debt through one of the agencies associated with them. (there was no valid number available at the time.) Now i have 3 different agencies trying to collect the same debt. All i wanted to do was pay this off! So beware when contacting anyone about settleing. They are just the holding for different companies.

By the way thanks for a current number, the one listed on mine was disconnected.

Gary-good luck on the debt validation to LVNV! I have been trying to get them and all of their little companies to validate since Jan. They won't do it, they will just pass it aroung among themselves...Karen

Default LVNV

In account from over 7 years ago with MCi that I was sure was paid off, just appeared back on my credit report a few months agao. I know it was not there before because when I purchased my home a year ago, there was nothing about this company. I took the number from the credit report and that is how I found out what it was about. I do not understand how they can resurface something from a time period that was at least 7 years or more ago. I also lost the # and wanted to know how I can get in touch with the company to file a dispute.

Default debt owed

I'm trying to pay off a debt owed to this co. and am having a hard time getting a good phone # to reach them to get payments started. You would think that a credit co that is in the buisness of chasing money would make themselves more easily contactable.

Bossy, I read an earlier post about LVNV that you wrote and i saw where you said they sold your informationd to 3 rd parties. I've been dealing with them for about5 months now too and actuallly have another court date with them this thursday.I am wondering if it is possible they too have given out my information to other companies for the fact that since this court thing has been going on I've been getting alot of calls and such about refinnacing and consolidating and things like that.I may be way off here but it seems kinda odd.And just llike you said they havent validated it yet, just the paper that they showed me at the last court date with barely any information that i felt they needed to validate.

Default regarding the same problem

I have the same problem. Today I got in the mail a letter from LVNV NY address that I owe them $135.44. They said original creditor is Citibank. I never had any citicard. I do not know what to think. My credit is perfect so far.
