Carlos, you would like to hear from who-LVNV, or the credit counselor?

We are not LVNV, but a site relating to people discussing and learning about debt and credit.

If you will scroll up and read alot of the posts, they are well known for dunning people that don't owe them, harassment, etc. I have been dealing with them for coming close to 2 years, and it hasn't been pretty!!

If you have further questions, please ask..karen

Update....
TransUnion has finished the investigation and the LVNV account has been REMOVED from my credit report!

Success!!!! **cheering**

This just goes to show that the advice on this thread pays off. I am just lucky I didn't have to sue (knocking on wood). Hopefully, they will stop all their efforts against me.

Thanks!

After disputing for a long time with a 3 agencies about LVNV Funding and another company Federal Pacific Credit. They are removed from Transunion. Wooo Hooo!!! Yippy. The bad news is that Federal Pacific is still calling after getting the boot saying they are going to report the debt to the IRS so i have to pay taxes on an unpaid debt that I paid for and have proof of paying in 2005. WTF!! What to do now? I am still anticipating removals from the other 2 credit bureaus. I already got a letter from Experian saying i didnt provide enough info on who i was. Go figure, I sent a 3 companies the same info but wasnt enough for 1 of the companies. Can collectors re-appear after getting deleted from your report? That would be illegal correct? :P :P

I can only write that letter to LVNV Funding if the previous debt is paid off right? I think mine is from a SEARS card, but the SEARS card still has a balance and is in collections. And then this LVNV is the same amount. So, I figure I can only write that letter to LVNV saying to get off my credit report if SEARS is already paid right?
And why is this balance listed on there twice? If it says I owe it to SEARS why is it listed with LVNV too?
thanks!

Well Fresh69, if you can prove that you paid for it in 05. Then you can help the IRS nail them for tax evasion and fraud. Not sure if there is anything else that can be added to that. Basically they are trying to defraud the IRS and evade paying a portion of their taxes by filing a false claim via bad debt.

Thanks JCEMT,
I just tracked down the collector who sold the account to the one mentioned above and they faxed me a copy of the debt sold to HAR. Well FEDPAC said that copy along with my bank statement in conjunction with one another is stil not enough to prove i paid the debt for them and said they are goig to report me to the IRS to pay taxes on an unpaid debt. What a crock and i contacted the Attorney general in NY where the debtor is located and unable to get a hold of the debtor i paid Originally. I hope this makes sense.

Contact the entity that you paid, get a paid in full letter, fax it to your current creditor. That should be proof enough. If they still threaten to file it with the IRS you can contact the IRS about it. Use the same documentation that you received (that they state wasn't good enough) as well as the paid in full letter that I suggested you obtain. You can use those as proof that they just provided false filing documentation, it will probably result in an audit of their company. That should be fun for them...

Well heres the hard part. The creditor that i paid is no longer in buisness due to its shady practices. They are on BBB 3 times under different addresses as bad buisness in NY. All available phone numbers for the buisness are disconnected.

Demarcus- We are not LVNV.We are a forum and community dedicated to helping others with their debt and credit issues and to help with answers they may have.

You need to contact the Credit Reporting agency and dispute this.

I had something from Lvnv also, and I called them to check it out. It was an old bill and I told them I had never had an account with the business, and they closed it right away and sent out a letter to the credit companies to remove it. No hassle. Kind of odd, but good.
