That is odd-LVNV never validates fully or cooperates. If you can, get a copy of that letter, so they won't pass it to their one of many agencies..karen

Yes, very odd indeed!

I finally got LVNV off of one of my credit reports, and waiting to hear on the other two. I never received anything from LVNV regarding my request that they correct the information on an account settled and paid a few years ago, that LVNV was still showing as an open collections account on my credit report, with a delinquency date of this year! I informed them to correct these violations ASAP, but I was pretty sure they would not comply. So, I also filed a dispute with all 3 credit reporting agencies, on this, and several other discrepancies. So far, LVNV has been REMOVED from my Equifax report as a result of their investigation! It is a small step, but a step, none the less.

Good to hear Subigirl,
I too had LVNV removed from 1 of my reports. It was Transunion. Still awaiting an answer from the other 2 bureaus.

Ok well after getting LVNV Funding deleted from my Transunion report. I just got my letter from Equifax stating the item was verified and belongs to me as well as the other Federal Pacific Credit. I sent all the same info to all 3 Bureaus. LVNV didnt validate for me, and FEDPAC was paid. I sent proof for both. How is this possible? This is not right at all and how can companies get away with being "in bed" with the 3 Bureaus? Now i feel as if i am forced to go with a credit repair company like Lexington law. So either way i am havig to pay. Can or do the 3 credit bureaus share info with each other? I am so peaved! What to do?

Delia,
Alot of us are in the same sitiation. Most of us have gone through the step in having LVNV verifiy that the own the debt. Most case are that they do not verify the debt. Like me. Now i sent this info to the Credit Bureaus. 1 has taken it off because they didnt verify the debt to me while the other 2 Equifax and Eqperian say LVNV has verified the debt to them. Im in AWE of how this can happen. I am stuck and dont know what to do myself except maybe hire a Credit repair agency. So either way it seems we get screwed. Just my 2cents!

They probably purchased the debt from someone else. You owed someone the money, the lVNV purchased the debt. Most likely it is a valid debt.

They served some papers to my moms home today saying that I am owed some money...a police came there and told my sister so...she called me way here in TX and he wanted to leave them with me, but left them there because I am so far away..after he leaves she reads that LVNV is giving me 30 days to pay for some credit card they say I owe on....I havent had a credit card in over 10 years..so even if I was naive enough in college to get the card ...it is tooo old for them to try to hold me to it...They are so dishonest...they should have just said what they were trying to do, so I could have told them right there that they arent getting JACK! My husband cleans credit for people in his spare time...so he knows exactly how to handle this..he once had a credit score in the lower 300's and is now in the 600's and when his student loans go into good standing in the next month...it will be even higher...so if anyone else needs assistance you can email me and see what you can arrange with him.

As to LVNV, Resurgent is one of their many DBAs-they pass it from one to another and don't expect them to validate or notify the credit reporting agencies.

Be sure you take notes, keep copies of all correspondence ,and send everything certified, return, receipt. They play dirty,so know your rights.

I have been dealing with them for about 2 years, they make promises they don't keep, so get it in writing--goood luck..KAren

Check the first link in my signature for a debt validation letter template. Send it certified mail, return receipt requested. They have to validate before they can proceed with any further collection activity. Also dispute it with the credit reporting agencies to which they have filed with.
