Hi Roxanne,

Please start a new thread with this question so it can be properly addressed. Also please tell us what state you are in. You need to ask the bank for the reasons why they authorized the garnishment, it usually needs a court order, so find out where it came from. You can call the court it was issued in and file a Motion for Dismissal due to improper service. We can help you better with more info, but again - please start a new Thread.

Thanks!

I paid a illegal operated account in Feb 2007 and have prrof of it and it still shows on my credit report. The illegal item is that you somehow show you bought it Aug 2007. Well, it was already paid off & should of never been able for you to purchase. I need help. I wrote a letter to the FTC and attorney general because I don't know what to do so the next step my attorney asked if I could contact your office. I need to be called please Edited for your protection and this problem fixed. It is negatively destroying my credit report.
SameBox Response from "NASCAR_Devil":

I sent a dispute regarding a judgement that is on my credit report with experian and it is not mine. In order for Experian to do the investigation they had to contact you and they were given the wrong answer. I gave them my Social Security number and it does not even match up with the person that you are trying to collect from. It has nothing to do with me what so ever. Can you try and get this matter cleared up because I am tired of getting phone calls and letters sent to my residence and I am thinking of seeking a attorney concerning you and how you do business. I am tired of being harrassed by telephone asking me when am I going to pay and I am sorry but this is not my responsibility because it is not my dept and it is effecting my credit with my own personal accounts. My social security # is personal info removed for your safety - Jason and the person that you are trying to collect from does not have my social security number. Again can you take care of this on your end because according to Experian they contacted you and apparently someone wih your company told them that it is me and it is not.

LVNV is on my credit rpeort, too. They say the credit card balance was $3500 at charge off, but they are listing the balance, over due, as $6908. How can they add so much interest and/or fees?

My boyfriend got a letter from LVNV in Feb of this year ('09) and I've heard you only have 30 days to get them to verify the debt that you owe to them. What can he do now? Just as a side note, my boyfriend had gone into collections by not paying HSBC after purchasing a motorcycle in 2007, so I know he does in fact owe money. Its just that he has received letters from another company previously (which we haven't heard from lately) claiming to have taken over the account from HSBC. So now LVNV is claiming to have the account. He hasn't checked his credit report just yet to see who shows up, but I assume LVNV will. Should he just try to pay them or is there a way to know for sure that they are the company that will settle this debt? Thanks!

By the way I have looked up the Statue of limitations for California, which is 4 years so I know he's not covered by that.. it's only been 2 years..

RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT VOLUSIA COUNTY FLORIDA STATING "....no activity by filing of pleadings, order of court, or otherwise has occurred for a period of 10 months (or more) immediately preceding ...this notice, & no stay has been issued or approved by the court. .....if no such record activity occurs within 60 days ....of this notice ....... this action may be dismissed by the court or on the motion of any interested person." The question is what must be done by me and what can LVNV do. No mention of amount or description made.
