You have several options, each with some merit base upon your individual situation. credit counseling / possible restructuring, debt consolidation, or bankruptcy. How are your job prospects? Can you get a temp job just to bring in extra cash while you're looking for another job? You should talk to a professional ASAP to help with the best option for your particular situation. A professional looking from the outside will be able to get a different perspective on your situation.

You mentioned in your post that the debt is building up higher thereby making it unmanageable to a certain extent. At this point, you should definitely take some advice from the professionals.

Looking at the present financial situation, you can be offered the lowest plan so that you can get started with the program. Later, when you will have a steady job, contribute more towards the plan. This will help in completing the program faster.

The main idea is to prevent the debt account from rising higher. After you include all the accounts in the program, late fees and financial charges will be waived off from the account and you will have a reduced amount to pay. In this program, the lenders will also offer you a lower rate of interest, making the payment process easier.

Take counseling as this is the best option you have at the present moment.

Talk to the consultant who will be offering you a free discussion in a short time. Do let us know after you have taken it.

Remember bankruptcy should be your last choice. It's tough enough to file bankruptcy after the reformation of bankruptcy laws. Furthermore it will hurt your credit like anything.

If you place all your loans under consolidation program, the consultant will try to work out a suitable payment plan that goes with your budget well. This way you can repay your debts easily and it will help you get your credit in a good dimension. Best of luck.
