Default MCM

I have a few questions....
Does MCM or any creditor have the right to refuse to give you their phone number if you do not give them your address?
Does MCM or any creditor have the right to refuse to give you the number to the higher up over the person talking to you and their supervisor?
Do they have the right to be rude to you?

Default frozen account

I had a debt with MCM and they took me to court. I agreed to a down payment and then monthly payments. I sent the pymt to MCM and their lawyers froze my checking account. They claim MCM never reported the pymt. I have faxed my cancelled check, and my account is still frozen 48 hours later. What to do?
They also did this with no warning.

I would like to know how many more payments do I have or can I do a settlement. I can't afford $125.00 taking out of my account because I am only making a average of 100.00 a week and I have a mortgage payment of over 900.00 a month. I can afford 50.00 a month or a settlement

Default What was the debt bought for?

Midland Credit Management apparently has a credit card debt I owe on. If they now own this debt, how can I find out how much they paid for it? Do they actually own the debt?

Midland Credit Management recently purchased a debt I had from a credit card from four years ago. They set me up with a payment plan that is actually adding up to less than what I had aquired with the credit card company. Should I be weary of this? All I want to do is pay my debt.

its true midland has the right over the a/c .....and if they say they own it they would ...........as when we sign up fr a credit card etc.....the application has a clause that the rights to the a/c can be transferred to anyone ...........the company seems fit ....i had a fingerhut a/c with them ......they settled the a/c for me and reported the a/c as a paid a/c and not a settled a/c ............which my lawyer confirmed for me .........

i have really enjoyed reading everyone's post. very informative... here is my story.. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... received a couple of letters from mcm that i never responded too. i was then served by the local sheriff dept to appear in court. contacted the attorney to find out what the charge was for. the "attorney" could not find any info in their "database". said he would call me back. went to court 2 days later only to be told the case was dismissed. (voluntary dismissal w/out prejudice) 2 weeks later received a call (first ever) from MCM. guy was rude so i hung up on him. got a call today. (a month later) inquired on payment. i asked for a fax# to send a copy of the dismissal letter. he then brings up an acct that he said i had back in 1998! Ga sol is 4 years.(nothing on my crdt report for that acct) so my question is, should i send this dv letter?? and or should i send a copy of the dismissal letter from court?? or should i send a copy of the dismissal letter to the 3 cb's??? my last question is... once a debt has been sold to one agency and then to another one, what date should reflect on ur crdt report?? because it appears that once it has been resold, the debt appears to be a new debt which caused my scored to go down.. thanks for ur time..

Did the account default in '98? If so, the longest this could have stayed on your report would be mid 2006. They may have illegally re-aged the debt which violates the FCRA and they are liable for up to $2500 per violation per CRA. SOL in GA is 6 years not 4. When was your last payment on this account?
