A C&D is not really applicable to the previous posters issue. Sounds like the CA illegally re-aged a debt. Personally I'd move to an ITS letter.

Midland Credit is one of the hardest people to deal with. I am dealing with them myself. For some of the relpies I saw on here here are a few things to know... 1. If the debt is over 7 years old and no contact has been made to collect it is dead they cannot collect on it and it should not be on your credit.
2.Midland credit is on my account two times for the same account so they do report the accounts wrong it is in fact for the same account for me I have called and ask but they refuse to remove one of them so I am currently taking legal action against midland for it. And also I notice that on my dreit report Midland is collecting for a company called Friendman's which is also showing up so not only is it bad enough I have a debt on there but it is on there three total times. One from orginal debtors and twice from Midland. I have spoken with these people and trust me they are hard to deal with half of them I called even understand because they talk so fast and two because one day they give me one number to contact back and the time it is a different number in a different state. I do not trust them as far as I can throw them. Altho I did in fact recieve a account summary bill from Midland Credit but it had a state totaly different from the other TWO states i dealt with. So I no longer deal with them but am taking legal action against them. I don't disagree that I have the debt but I do disagree with it being on my credit report three times total and refusing to remove two of the three. They cannot do that abnd the fact that none of the people I talk to seem to know what they are talking about and are stations in state across the US but yet are the same company. There is only one Midland credit. Something is wrong with this pisture I personally would not trust this company with my money.

I had them on my credit report AFTER I sent them a debt validation letter. I sent it within days of the dunning letter from them. I have not heard a peep out of them. I disputed the entry on my credit report and it came back verified. did it again, same thing. So I tried once more and was about to send a intent to sue but this time they did not verify it and it was deleted.

If you send a dv letter to them during the 30 day window, wait it out. After 4 months or so if you do not hear anything and they are on your credit report, dispute it. Most likely they don't have your information anymore and will not be able to verify it. Then if anyone ever comes after you for that debt. you have proof that if can't be validated, therefore it's not yours.

Angelina, this is not midland credit management, This is a help forum that deals with debt consolidation, abuse from debt collectors and other advice.

If you found this company on your credit report you should call the phone number that is provided on there. If no phone number is provided you can do one of 2 things. Send a debt validation letter to the address they have on your credit report or dispute the entry on your credit report, or both, sending the debt validation letter first is recommended.

Did you ever receive anything by mail from this company? If not use this letter and format it to your needs. DO NOT sign the letter, you can just put your initials or type your name in when you print it up.

Oh Yeah and send it certified mail return receipt requested. This way you have a copy of the letter and will get the green card back providing proof you sent it.

Good Morning. I am really stressing over a letter that I keep getting from midland credit management Inc. (P.O. Box 60578, Los Angeles, CA 90060-057 (phone 1-800-282-2644) They have sent me a letter over and over again saying that I owe them $2551.36 for the Ford Credit US. But if I paid $637.84 now, the debt would be paid in full. I have never even owed a Ford, nor have I ever bought for a Ford dealer before. So I have them repeatedly about this. I gave them the account number that is on the letter. They ask me for my name. I said yes. Then they ask me if my SS ends in &^%$%. I say no. They verify my address and tell me they have the wrong address. They are EXTREMELY rude. Today is the third time I've had to call. I received another letter in the mail - same thing. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor. She said no because she had already taken my address off. I told her that that is what I had been told over and over again. But it was not taken care of. She hung up. I called back and was put on hold for a VERY long time. I hung up and called again. A man answered this time. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He asked me my information again. When I told him, he rudely said, "It says in the notes that your address was taken off so you can't speak to a supervisor. Quit calling and stressing over it." And he hung up.
So where am I at with this? What can I do? Is this some type of scam?

Check your credit report. If it is on your credit report then dispute it so it can be removed.

it might be that what you just received was mailed very shortly before they finally fixed your information, so it just crossed in the mail. We get that sometimes when we do something for a client, and the processing isn't completed before the next bill or document is changed, so they receive incorrect information in the mail before the NEW, correct document is mailed. Check your credit report, see what is shown, and then I would also call again, and ask to have something sent to you by Midland showing that you are not associated with acct# whatever.

Sub: #64 removal of double entries

folks, the reality is, the three credit bureaus EXIST to provide their members with credit information about potential customers - they do not have to do any favors for consumers, and there are no laws regarding THEM whatsoever - only those who report. I've tried having double, triple and even quadruple entries deleted by dealing directly with them and they simply will not do this. I've also sent them COURT DOCUMENTS showing an account dismissed and judgments paid in full, and still, THEY WILL NOT remove these items, simply marking them as disputed. The only way to effectively have these things removed is to go through your state attorney general's office and file a complaint. Midland Credit Management seems to respond well under threat from the state's attorney's offices, but no one else. And forget believing anyone at Midland will honor any request you make to them for account information. If ONE Person reading this has requested account information from Midland and actually gotten it, please let me know, but I don't think this ever happens, even under court order.
