Same stuff as Ellis. I did pay them complete because they scared the crap out of me and then spoke to my lawyer who filled me in on the fdcpa. But they haven't bothered me since and sent payment in full notice and also notified the loan co. of payment in full. If you can afford to, pay it. Get them out of your hair. Did he say where they are from?

Do you mean I should mail in my payments? The best he said he could do is 2 payments. I asked for something a little more reasonable. I think he was new to the job. He seemed real nervous.

annmarie0205,
If you have no objection on their demand, I mean if their demand is legitimate, then try to pay the amount.
Obviously you can propose some repayment plan that is affordable to you. Go on with the process of negotiation. If you find it tough, ask some expert consultants to accomplish the settlement process on your behalf.
It is always advisable to keep the records of all transactions between you two, whether it is a letter or your payment.

I just got off the phone with a "Ron Reynolds" with National Processing of America. He has called before and is/was very beligerant. The previous phone call he asked if the sheriff had contacted me and I said no. I tried to find out why he was calling because I truly had no clue. He asked if I was on alcohol and/or drugs and I laughed. I asked today for his address which he refused. I have previously sent a cease and desist letter which he obviously ignored, so I am aware that I now can take them to court.

I received another phone call from Ron Reynolds letting me know he just heard from the owner of the company. I told him that he should have been told not to call me again. I called National Opportunities which is the original creditor and spoke with the credit manager. He said National Opportunities is a collection agency and not associated with their company as Ron Reynolds is claiming. He wanted to hear everything that this person has said to me and I also made him aware that they are doing this to a lot of people. Sounded like he was not to happy with the collection agency they chose. I told him I thought it might be a good idea to find another company. He was very nice and wanted me to call if I had any further problems.

You want info on this company?
National Oppertunites and National Processing of America is in fact the same company. There are two floor supervisors, Paul Bishop and Dana Chaney. Their boss boss the operations manager Judy Dampman. Her boss is co-owner, Michael Landy, his boss and son is Josh Lundy.
Josh will never talk to a "customer" he doesn't have time or patience with them. Your best bet is to talk to Paul, the rest of them hate confrentation.
National Oppertunities is NOU, and American Consumer Credit is ACC. This are one in the same loaning company. and theirs collections is National Proceesing of America. They are located in the same building in the same room. Paul Bishop is in charge of loans and collections. Dana is in charge of payments and legal.
Now to assure this is a legit company for loans and collections just terrible with financial situations....
Also why do you think the collectors harrass you? of they get a % of what you payback.
And why do you keep paying 25% of the loan for an" automatic rollover" after the 4 weeks, this goes to the pocket of Josh Landy.
SO if you do take a loan out, pay it off within 4 weeks, or the payments you make won''t go toward the loan at this point.
I wonder why the company keeps affording good vactions, bonus, and give away prizes for the company... because you're paying for them!

Do you want info on this company? ...
National Oppertunites, American Consumer Credit and National Processing of America are in fact the same company. Now National Oppertunites (NOU), and American Consumer Credit (ACC), are one in the same loaning department of the company, while National Processing of America (NPA) is the collections department. They are located in the same building in the same room at 7201 W 110th St. Suite 210, Overland Park, KS 66210. Contact phone number (913) 339-9896.
The staff are Paul Bishop and Dana Chaney, both floor supervisors, Paul gives approval for the loans while Dana is the financial holder and approves the amount of the loans. Their boss, the operations manager, Judy Dampman, Over see both Paul's and Dana's decisions. Her boss/co-owner, Michael Landy approves the bank transactions (the deposit and withdraws) and his boss/son is Josh Landy, who all he does is talk on the phone in a huge office that hogs half of the business working area. The person to complain to is Paul Bishop, he runs the (NPA) collections department as well as supervisor of the NOU and ACC customer service. You can try and request to speak to Josh, as Paul will argue you to death to keep you from doing so. Josh himself will rarely speak to the customers due to he has stated he doesn't have time or has patience to argue over a little matter. Dana and Judy will avoid any confrontation at any cost, and well Mike, he's very friendly but can be two face. He'll make it sound like he agrees with you then when you're finished the phone call, he'll do the opposite and say he isn't going to do a thing to help.
Now onto where the money comes from and goes to. First this company is a legit and legal company, but does it's finance the wrong way. The loan comes from Josh's bank and pockets, but how he gets it back it unethical. They will call your home and work to rush to get the "paperwork" finished. But when you think it's finished, there a heck of a lot more paperwork that needs attention. once you receive the loan, you are better to pay it off in the first four weeks, because after the four weeks, you'll be paying 25% of the loan every week. Now the 25% doesn't not go to pay towards the loan... that's just the interest to roll it over for another week. Did I also mention you're loan automatically roll over? Read the contract. You have to contact them to let them know to make a payment. They word the darn contract were you can not understand the legal terms because they use those "Legal and Hard-to-understand Terms". But it's it's all legally there in black and white.
Now that you got the loan and making payments but you missed one. You fell behind in the payment... from here on out you're up sh** creek. Not only will they keep trying to pull from your bank causing overdraft charges, the interest will be added with another set of interest, the late fee and the next payment due. After so many returns, you're loan is now in the collections.
In collections they add up... the complete loan, the interest that due up to this point, late fees, returns, oh the list goes on and on. You wonder why the collectors call and harass you day and night? Because in Kansas they can, KS law allow them too since this is a legal debt. All the money that due and they collect, a percent goes into the collector's pocket, the orginal loan amount goes back to Josh and the rest... Oh boy, the rest pays for employee vacations, Summer picnic in a park thats catered, a Christmas party thats on a BBQ/Gambling House that's on a ranch that in the middle of MO that has catering BBQ and gambling tournaments. The other stuff you pay for is weekly drawing prizes for employees that pull in the most money and employees the recruit new customers. Prizes that add up to TVs, DVD Players, concert tickets, sport tickets, high dollar gift cards to restaurants and shopping centers.
You wondering how they can afford this, trust me you're not the only one paying. This company issue out loans to forty of the fifty states, yeah thats a lot people out there with loans.
When paying back the loans/collection you can only do it through automatic withdraws or credit cards - theyre automatic transactions. They will argue to you until you're blue in the face to pay by MoneyGram or Western Union, they take up to 3 hours to a couple days to receive... and for all you can know, the money could be sitting on their desk collecting dust or gets lost to be delayed before it goes towards to amount due, then they add more late fees... what fun!
My advice is, it's more of a headache to pay back then to get the loan, and they literally can use the term "Payback is a ----".
