Okay--I wrote the below post a little while back. since then, I have wrote the company and explained my situation--asked that they remove this from my credit report. They wrote me back stating that I didn't give them enough info and that they need more info from me. They also said that they need a copy of my credit report. Why is this? and if so, do they need the WHOLE report or just the page I printed with them on it??? thanks!! shirley
--------------------------------------
currently right now, I have so many 'write offs/bad debts/charge offs'on my credit report, it ain't even funny. which has been another nightmare in itself. But after looking over my report, I noticed that the truck loan that I paid off last summer with no problems...was reported as 'was a chargeoff/paid'. All three of credit agencies has it that it was a paid charge off. NEWS TO ME!!!!!!!!! I NEVER missed a payment. I was late a few times and called and talked to them, they said everything was fine but never missed a payment. now they've reported it as a charge off??? I was so upset, cause as bad as my credit is, I was at least happy that my report showed that I paid my car loans off. now this isn't the case. The loan is paid and I have the title, what can I do? I can't believe that they reported this, its BS, I never missed a payment, also, I never even recieved anything that even suggested that it was going to go into a 'charge off'. shirley

Shirley,
What type of information is the agency looking for apart from your credit report? Regarding this account, you can show all the receipts of your payments made within the date that avoids it from getting "charged off". I feel this piece of information is sufficient for your lenders to come to know the fact that it should not be quoted as charged off.
You can send a dispute letter to them requesting for verification of the account and update it accordingly with the bureaus.

My credit rating was negatively affected by your entry to the <CREDIT BUREAU> that showed a charged off status of my account with you. I have since satisfied this debt. Therefore, I request that you submit a statement to <CREDIT BUREAU> that reflects the fact that the debt has been paid in full.
Thank you for your attention to this request.
Sincerely,

do not send them your credit report, they just want to compare information, and correct their records never send your credit report to anyone.

Hi Shirley,
I had the same kind of problem with my car loan and the loan co ask for a copy of what the CRAs were reporting. I sent them a letter describing what was wrong and a copy of the page with only their info visible and a week later it was all fixed. Just black out the other info. It worked for me. Good luck.
