I think that these people are hungry for a buck and won't leave you alone even if you don't owe them anything!

Welcome to the forum NY liz, if you were not served you should speak to the judge who oversaw the case and request vacation of judgment due to improper service.

i was sent a validation from palisades saying my dispute was resolve and i still owe the bill. the thing they sent me was a computer type up of a phone bill back in 2000 with my name and names of two people i dont know and a address from florida and they been using three cellphones since 1999!!i never lived in florida and never got a bill or made a payment to att!! just need to know if i should send them another letter stating i never lived there and dont know these people and to add if they keep persuing that the sol is expired in nevada anyway???i disputed this account almost two years ago and barely got validation last month and i did file a fraud alert and sent disputes to transunion and etc. they said they investigated and deleted it off my report almost two years ago.can these idiots still bother me after i told them the letter??

I don't know anything about this particular company except for posts..but are you above who have had these horrendous problems.... reporting them to the FTC... State attorney general...governor in your state etc? and anyone you can think of as well?..the fact that you have had to do all of this to clear up their mistakes and failure to validate...is a shame.......I think you need to step outside the box..alert creditors and credit reporting agencies but also alert anyone else you can think of..even your local news station or newspaper who can investigate these types of people..they need to be stopped and hopefully the more people who complain to everyone they can think of will get the snowball effect rolling downhill into play!

If they do bother you again remind them that they are still bound by fdcpa and the computer generated fluff that they sent you is not proper validation therefor they still must cease collection activity until proper validation is provided.

I have been trying for over a year to get a very small balance removed off of my credit by PALISADES COLLECTION. I have called AT&T and they are stating I do not owe this money. Believe it or not this was from an old cell phone from 1999-2000. This is crazy that all of a sudden this pops up on my credit report after 8 plus years. I have gone round and round with AT&T , they have tried everything they can to have it deleted as well .... I am at my wits end. I just bought my credit report from all three agencies and disputed the charges. I can not call these ppl because they are rude and very unprofessional...
If someone has and advise I would like your feed back

Welcome to the forum CreditGal67.
I would suggest disputing it with the credit reporting agencies first. Let them know that 1. the account has already been paid for, and 2. The reporting period stated within the Fair Credit Reporting Act has already passed. At the same time you can send Palisades a debt validation letter (you can find a good template via my signature, be sure to print off the enclosure to send with it) send it certified mail, return receipt requested. If they do not provide proper validation per the letter but verify it with the credit reporting agencies then you can file suit against them for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as well as the Fair Credit reporting Act. At this point I see at least $4,000 in statutory damages you can claim.

Is it possible for palisades to put a levy on your bank accts, is it legal? because palisades did this to my stepdaughter, it was also an att&t acct. The levy have been on it for over a month now, I told her I never heard of such a thing. I thought the Irs can only do that, never heard of a collection agency doing this. The law firm is Pressler & Pressler, can anyone tell me if this is legal.

Unless there is something in the contract with the original creditor that would allow them to do so they would have to obtain a judgment via civil suit first. I would suggest having your step daughter check with the courts and see if a suit was filed. If not then they can get in big trouble trying to do this without a judgment.

If it's been 11 years since you last made a charge or a payment, it's out of SOL almost everywhere. I would send them a validation demand. Likely you'll never hear from them again.

Here's a template for the letter: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com...structure.html

Send it certified mail, return receipt requested, And then keep the little green receipt card safe against future need.

My Stepdaughter bank told her that they had a judgment thats why they were able to put the levy on all her accts and for double the amt. Can her bank allow this and if so how can she resolve this, this is something new I really never heard of such a thing that creditors can do this. This Palisades co. is something else, do you think she should obtain an attorney?? And also how were they able to do this w/o her info. Palisades told her that they will need her authorization to take the money out of her acct, I told her not to authorize anything until she get some kind of legal advice. At this point I really don't know what to tell her but to get some legal help, I can't believe the bank allowed them to do so. Anyway help is needed!!!!!
