After nearly two years I sent them my original request and the new communication.

I have the letter from the original collection agency that I settled the debt in full. I can provide checks where I've paid this AND I can show them on my tax returns that I have added the settled debt as earned income.

Do Palisades have a case?
what is the validation?after that long it had better be something from the original creditor.statements something with their logo or letterhead.anything else i would not consider validation at all.i would follow your AG'S advice and let them know about this before proceeding.

Send copy of settlement letter with copy of check blacking out account numbers & personal information. Include these with a strongly worded foad letter stating debt has been settled in full and therefore is no longer a valid collection account.

I recently contacted a collection agency because they are reporting that I held an account with Spiegel but they can not provide me with any information except for a payment history which I asked for proof of but they refuse to send me a copy. I want this negative report off of my credit report because the debt is not mine. What do i do?

I just received a collection letter from Palisades in regards to an outstanding AT&T Cell bill. I called AT&T and they do not even have the account number on file the Palisades provided. I called and let them know that this account does not belong to me. I told them they could call AT&T and verify this. They told me I would have to file a police report and send a copy to them. What should I do?

Palisades took us to court in 2005, failed to show up or send a lawyer to 4 seperate hearing dates, refused to answer Discovery Motions and the Judge Dismissed the case in our favor. That was 4 years ago. In January of 2010, they contacted us again trying to get the same Debt. When they were informed of the ruling, they actually said "All that means is we can't take you to court". These people are class A scumbags. Their customer service people don't care and don't listen.
They are looking for us to pay them something to make the case go away, even after losing in court, which I think is harrassment and blackmail.

Palisades collection sent me a letter and phone calls. I wrote them for validation. They replied without proper validation. They sent me one copy of an old bill. I am getting ready to send them a second request for verification. If this went to a judgment, can they attach a social security check? I have no income.

Social security can not be garnished, except in the case of certain government obligations. Back taxes, overdue child support, defaulted student loand... Like that.

OK now. I've read this message string and I am quite concerned about paying Palisades Collection. It appears that some have made payments to Palisades, but the debt remains on their credit report.
How do I protect myself when making a payment to Palisades?
Do I send payment in the form of a money order and by certified mail?
Is there anything else?

I have a judgment on my CR from Palisades at this time from 2007. I was never served any paperwork about this. The reason its showing is from an ATT bill I use to have which I paid off in late 2007. I called ATT and they are showing I owing nothing at all. I mailed three certified w/return receipt verification letters to Palisades and no response, so at this time Im not sure what to do. Can some one please give a little advise?

I am having a similar issue. ATT is saying (I called them) I owe nothing at all. It has been 10 years since I have had my ATT account. I have sent a validation letter to Palisades, but I am afraid I will run into the same problems.

Do I pay them?? I am afraid like the post 2 above this one.
What if I dispute this Experian or Equifax??? Is this a viable alternative?

HELP!!!

First, contact ATT again. Ask them for a letter (written) stating that you owe them nothing.

Then, Send letters to Palisades, EQ, etc(CM/RRR). Endlose a copy of the ATT letter, and demand that the offending tradeline be removed from your credit report immediately. If that doesn't get the job done, follow it up with an ITS letter. If that still doesn't get it, sue.

I just got a letter in the mail from a First National Credit Bureau. It was for a landline in Pennsylvania, the only problem is that I have never lived in Pennsylvania. And now I am trying to deal with Palisades National to get this wiped off of my credit bureau.
