by the way i received the judgement letter from pressler but i am filing the motion vacate today. this debt was never my moms, she was a patient of cancer, her identity was stolen. The only thing I did wrong was that I did not answer the interrogatory questions because they denied my letter when I asked them about validation, They said that I never responded on time when I actually responded 14 days or so earlier than the due date.

I too, had an AT and T debt I did not believe I owed assigned to Palisades. They claimed to not have an account for me when I called after receiving notice, needed my SS # ,etc. I refused to give the number, did not hear anything for a couple of years, then was contacted by an attorney. I settled for a lower amount than Palisades claimed I owed to clear up my credit report, then disputed the report. I sent certified letters with paperwork from the atorney stating the debt was settled to all three reporting bureaus. All three reporting agencies were told by Palisades that I still owe them money- do not list the remainder as forgiven... When I call the various numbers I have found for Palisades, I receive only recordings. I have four addresses for Palisades. What is my next step to clear my credit report of a debt I didn't owe to begin with! I ended a more tha 20 year land phone account with AT and T over this alledged cell phone issue.

file a police report for identity theft if you believe is not yours. You didnt have to pay a dime if you never had an account with them. plus you should read more and do some research, most accounts expire within 5-7 yrs.. I HOPE SOMEONE HAS AN ADVICE FOR MY CASE!!

For one, i do not work for them anymore. 2nd, ur best bet is to file a police report for identity theft for a few reasons: 1.- it saves u any more headaches 2.- if you dont show proof that you filed a police report, palisades will still find you liable for any bills you may have been receiving. 3.- it looks beter on your part end of the stick. 4.- and always get a copy of everything that you do. Saving copies can save you alot of headaches. 5.- report to credit bureau you have filed police report, that way they can wait for a response back from them. Remember once this is all settled, no matter what it will stay on your credit b/c there is a 7 yr statue plus if you have money to get it taken off, do so. It will give u merit on your part once again. Listen to me pls. I have had plenty of people curse me out above all of things. So pls do file a police report and you will save yourself a big headache in the long run. Enjoy your day

Thanks for your advice, my mom decided not to file a police report because she said she needs to talk to my aunt (the one that did it) before she proceeds. One question we ask is how about if they check how many times we have viewed the credit report and they find out that we know about this since 2004, how about if they then deny it or think that my mom was part of it?? I was the one checking her credit report constantly to see if there was anything new and used my credit card to purchase them. And i did discover not too long ago that she has some address in her file from VA, she has never gone to virginia and someone tried to open a loan down there in her name. The reason why she didnt do it right away is because she is a patient of cancer still under treatment, then my grandma came to this country to get an open heart surgery and time just flew by, plus my mom feels bad about it in a way because we came to this country with nothin and my aunt gave us everything. I know it doesnt justify what she did to her but the way my mom looks at it, its "we are family" If i was her i would of file a police report a long time ago cuz my aunt didnt care if we were family or not when she did this. Anyways, we filed a certification of opposition to the motion and we will go to the trial. What could happen now? If the judge rules against her, their is nothing pressler could do cuz my mom has no money and they cant touch her SSI check, pressler will need to drop it. They might try to do it later on, but in the meantime i have faith that my mom has settled everything with my aunt.

I have had a charged off account from At&t wireless that i had agreed to make payments to. Palisades contacted me by phone about a year ago but havent gotten anything in writing as of a bill in over 2 years. I asked them to send me another copy of the bill so i could start paying and they never did. I finally heard from a lawyer and they are sueing me in small claims court. Because they havent responded in writing what can io do?

Adrienne, verify the address used by Palisades if they have sent you anything in writing earlier. Your records should be in their system with correct data. If they can't prove their sending the letter, no actions will result against you even if the matter reaches in the court.

I have a friend that was just served court papers from Palisades Collection,LLC for an AT&T Wireless bill and he has never had a cell phone before. We are trying to prove this is a case of mistaken identity or something. Any help on what to do next would be appreciated. They are trying to sue him for over $3,000.

Hi all,

Has anyone been sent a supoena from palisades collections to appear in court over a matter? I find this odd that any collections agency would do such a thing or be so desperate to get a Deputy in Florida to serve a person.
