Guest,

Paragon Way, Inc is a Texas based collection agency. They also operate from New York. You can contact them at –

2101 W Ben White #103
Austin, TX 78704

Make sure that they are legal owner of the debt that they are collecting. Ask them to validate the debt. Send them CMRRR asking for some written log of your debt. Go through the debt validation article here for a better understanding –

Default ACCT #*********

Paragon Way inc has sent me a bill that was included in bankruptcy in 2002. Is there a direct number where I can reach someone in person at Paragon Way Inc.

Thank you
Corlon Barnes

They are both a CA and a debt buyer. Definitely validate with these guys. A while ago as I was climbing out of my payday loan mess, they contacted my regarding a charged off payday loan that they had purchased. I sent them a validation letter that specifically requested proof of ability to collect (legal ownership or assignment) and I also have them two specific ways to contact me (email and to me in care of my attorney. Guess what they never responded.

On a good note though, they appear to be fairly on the up and up, the one phone call I had (where I stated that once I received their letter I would respond with a request for validation) was polite, and they even gave the mini miranda. Also too, they were even licensed properly in my state.

JJ, you can contact me @ 888-570-5007 ask for x 1110, and I will get you taken care of. I am the Dispute Fraud Resolutions Coordinator there.

Also FYI it is our company policy not to correspond through email. And if you are represented by an atty just leave his name and number and we will contact him.

Boyd

two questions Boyd.. 1) why no email correspondence? 2) why no written response?

Thanks for offering your assistance though. What are the possibilities of negotiating a settlement or at least payments over a period of time. the settlement offered was not bad, but not doable in one chunk.

Default Harassing phone call

I received a phone call from a "Paragon Way" phone # 1-800-486-3187. They wanted to confirm the last 4 digits of my social and my address. I asked what it was in reference to, what was this company and the girl that called started to get rude. I asked to speak to a manager. A Mr. Johnson came on and he was rude as well. I asked them to take me off of their calling list and they said they would keep calling me until they got the information they wanted. I told them I was going to report them.

They are a collection agency that also buys bad debt. From what I can tell they generally try to be PDCPA compliant.. remember if they are trying to collect a debt they have five days from initial contact to get you something in writing.

Default Paragon Way called me, need some info on them

I had the same problem with this company as Ladyjwolff a couple of weeks ago. The guy called acting all tough and demanded me to tell him the last four numbers of my SS number. I demanded to know what the call was about, but he refused to tell me and just kept saying his name, that he was with this Paragonway company and refused to tell me what the call was about. When I poited out the stupidity in giving out that kind of information to an unknown person he said that we would talk again and hung up. This same person in now calling up, asking me if I'm Xxxxx Xxxxxxxxx (my name) and then hanging up the phone without saying another word. It looks like Paragonway is looking to see how many times they can be sued.

Janet, can you tell the name of the company you are addressing your issue? I hope you might have mistaken with the company you are looking for in this forum.

Default Paragon Way

This collection account just showed up on my credit report. It shows them collecting for Bank of Delaware and never has anyone from Bank of Delaware nor Paragon Way/TXCollect ever made contact with me. They are collecting for a payday loan back in 05/03 and 3 years have gone by with no letter, phone calls or anything...just threw this collection account on all three credit reports.

I am going to tell them to validate and prove this belongs to me.
