I have had a gentleman contact me from Pinion Management in re to payday loan from United Cash Loans, he is threatening me with the District Attorney for a bad check. Which there was no bad check written. Can they do that?

I Paid my debt to a company called Collectedge Services LLC back in 09/2005, no I have another collector calling me and threating me, I have proof of my paymentof this debt, but I can not get ahold of Collectedge Services LLC all the phone #'s I have for them are no longer good #'s HELP!!!

Jeanie, no actions will be considered legal until Pinion sends to you something in writing about the account. Read the FDCPA laws on debt validation and empower with your legal rights. The collection agencies are restricted from making threats and intimidating comments till they have a legitimate purpose. Send a debt validation letter to their mailing address and cover your base legally.

jiggles1978, there is nothing to worry since you have proof of the debt paid. It is obvious that the collection agency is having a wrong contact or your file is not updated with them. Ask them to send you in writing and later dispute their claim.

Thanks (just me) for the advice. Have you ever heard of collectedge services llc? They are who i originally made the payment to and they never sent me my letter stating that the debt was paid ... All i have is a copy of the electronically submitted payment they did with my account number from pinon on it... That should be good enough right?

Yes, you must be having the routing number showing the transfer. This is all you need for being in the safe side.

Just received a call from them their number is 1-888-339-6669. I called the number to verify and it is FC Services.

Roy, you have to contact your bank and dispute the debit with the company. Pinion needs to clarify this transaction. If they are unable to give you sufficient reasons for this debit, the amount should be reverted back to your account.
