The fact is banks already know how much debt per month/yearly will be apprx charged off in credit cards and lines of credit etc. the bank has already made the money many times over from every swipe then the interest rates. The bank ceo, collection ceo and the few underlings make the bread. They put that woe is me bs out there when really they are running a game and put it out there for you too pay a bill which they have purposely refused to work out payment arrangements to keep you on edge. There is no such thing as a sense of urgency either. They have it there by clicking the mouse. Often times info is also often kept from adjusters but known by the upper management. They often have contact info but purposely mess the info to make the collector send to an old address to buy time so the CEO gets his before it's sold like a hooker to the next bidder. Those collection agencies are paid by how many hits each file gets thats why they are sold so often.

Just plain dirty

okay one once you tell a debt collector to only contact by mail thats the only way they can contact by law secoundly if you ask for a letter of collection if they do not send it within 5 days it is illegal for them to post it on your credit report with out vaildation. Check the laws in your state and also report their behavior to bbb and the ftc, and your attorney general.

hey guys for one thing you don't have to go to court to vaildate a debt send a certified later if they dont send you a respond within 30 days report them to the bbb,ftc and your attorney general because it is against the law to put it on your credit with out them vaildating it! Also check the laws in your state regarding your rights. record all phone calls some states say you have to tell them your recording and some say you don't also once you tell them you no longer want to be contacted by phone and to only contact through mail they must stop. it is better to put it in writting through certified mail so you also have a paper trail beside the recordings. most of the time if you don't use certified mail they will ignore your request. as for the collector guy or girl your a a**hole and everyone one on here has a legit claim and they can take these people to court if the get a paper trail on them and get up to $1000 dollars per violation. so catch them if you can they will hang up once you tell them your recording so try tell them in the beginning. or just wait till the end but tell them!

I had a credit card with a $5000 limit and they are now telling me the total amount due is almost $20,000. The card was closed almost 10 years ago. I have looked everywhere to find information on any laws regarding fees that can be charged and can't find anything. It seems highly unethical, but surely is illegal too. I have not received anything on how the fees were calculated. Just a demand for payment.

I am in a financial situation I pay 4000 today to get rid of it.
But, my Gosh! Reading through the horror comments in this forum (which by the way appears to be the only valid and curent forum on the Internet about this company), it seems to me contacting them would produce no result except psychological stress. What is the point of receiving their harassment, if they don't settle? In my case, I did not get the initial letter. No phone call either.
They probably bought my debt for 1 cent for a dollar. Even if they settled this debt with me for the original amount of $4000, they would still make a net profit of over $3900. What is the 10K for?
I have two questions.
1. Is there is a federal law to prevent these debt purchasers from imposing undue interest on consumers' original debt? Even the IRS does not impose this kind of interest on past-due tax liabilities! This is borderline harsh and brutal punishment. How sad.
2. What is the phone number to Attorney General in the state of Minnesota?

They creeps harrassed me by phone night and day! I wouldn't settle through them even if I won the Lottery! They tried to tell me that The State of Ohio allows them to disregard my request to stop calling me. I had to pull teeth to get their mailing address so that I could put it in writing to STOP CALLING!! They did not want me to write and tell them to stop calling cause then they would only be able to contact me by mail! So everyone write these idiots and tell them to contact you only by mail!

they spoke to you?? they call me over 20x a week from different numbers and won't speak when i answer. the only way i know it's them is from looking the number up online. I don't even know what they are trying to collect for or if it's me they are even looking for. i filed a complaint with the ftc over harrassing calls. they call two times in a row several times a day always from a different number and state and won't speak.

So Pinnacle Credit Services is a very hard company to locate in terms of getting the correct number. Pinnacle is obviously a resource to the law firm that you have to go through. In my case it was Siler & Associates. I had no problem with any of the contacts. They were courteous and handled my called expeditiously. I am now awaiting a formal letter from the Siler & Assoc regarding my debt and hopefully will be able to pay it and have it all cleared. The number I contacted was 952-939-8100. The 800 numbers are void.

Well, That answers everything. If all of the bill collectors are as illiterate as this one, that explains why they just can't seem to get things straight. Here is my issue: In 2004, Capital One gave someone in Hannibal, New York, a credit card in my name. That person charged $500 on it. At that point, I had not lived in New York for over 4 years. For that matter, I was deployed to a remote area Iraq the entire time the credit card was active. I spoke with Capital One about it when i found it on my credit report. Soon after that, it dissappeared off my credit report for a few months, now it has come back from the dead and Pinnacle is harrassing me about it. No, SHYTBAG, it is not mine. Take some of the money you are getting paid and get an education.

As you can tell this guy needs to go back in the hole that he came from and learn how to read and write. He needs to get at least a G.E.D. 1st before becoming a lawyer.

Thank you everyone for the posts. I just checked my credit report and noticed them on my report. I have no idea what the original company was. I have never received phone calls or letters in regard to this debt. Glad I am not the only one. Thanks for the numbers.

This company is fake, well they use the name of a real firm but they are criminals. I got a bunch of calls threatening to sue, I got a letter about a debt that is not mine(faek I assume), all from the same criminals. They get lists of people in collection, they forge a debt similiar to something you really owe, they set the trap and hope to snare poor scare people. Class Action law suite would be nice but since the phone numbers are just redirects to an out of the country criminal org there is nothing to be done.
