I ordered my credit report with the scores this year. I Looked at both Transunion and Experian and noticed a Pinnacle credit services making inquiries on my report. We had debt that charged off on the advice of an attorney over 11 years ago and none of it is listed on any of our credit reports and we have worked very hard to get our credit score above 700. I do not want these clowns to mess anything up now. Is there anything we can do to stop someone from looking at our credit report? I know our bank and our one credit card company and the banks that have our car loan can look at our report and anyone that we would apply for credit have the right to look. However, I do not like the idea of anyone looking at our report without a valid reason.

Dispute the inquiry with the credit bureau. State that the company has no business with you and no permission by you to check your report and is making said inquiries fraudulently.

They have been harrassing the last few days, cannot provide any proof of money owed by Bank of America, whom I do not have an account with, did 12-15 years ago, but long ago paid off. Never have heard from Bank of American, just Pinnacle harrassment. What do I do?

Oh, and because of the harrassment, I paid them $100 to get them to stop. Can I get my $100 back.

Sue them in Federal court and collect your $1,000.

What can I do to stop this harassment??
File a cyst and diciest letter to them and sent it registered mail.

They can try to collect until you die, and then try to collect from your estate. The debt itself never goes away, the SOL only means that they can't report it on your credit report, or can't sue you for it.

If you are *sure* it is past the SOL, then send them a Cease & Desist letter.

Send them a Cease & Desist letter. Add on it that since they refuse to send you any verification, then you must assume that their claim is false (if not fraudulent) and they are to cease any contact with you immediately. Send it by Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested.
