What's with RJM Acquisitions LLC asking for payment of some Literary Guild Select Book Club I never joined. Sounds like a scam & it's definatly screwed with my credit !

Default I dealt with RJM

Just called them about a small debt from an account that I know I had
They were not provided with my new address and I requested to remove this entry from my credit report (Equifax and Transunion) now I just have to wait and see if it has been deleted :O)

They were actually very nice and helpful, I guess it depends who you get to talk to

I'm in the same boat, I got a mark on my credit report and I protested it. A few weeks later I got a letter in the mail from RJM Acquisitions saying I owed $91 for the Literary Guild Book Club. I called them up and told the lady that I had no knowledge of this debt. I asked what SSN they had on file and she said that they didn't have one. I then asked if they would/could provide me with any and all records showing that I agreed to this charge. She basically told me that they didn't have it on hand and that she would remove the debt from their accounts and the credit agency.

I guess the moral of the story is that you can (legally) just ask them to provide rediculous amounts of information and, in general, it just won't be worth it for them to chase down the info for a little bit of $$$... and even if you do have to pay, make them work for it, you'll feel better.

A debt is valid until paid for all but two states which have a statute of repose. You would have to google to see which two as I have long forgotten. After a debt has reached both civil & reporting sol,the only thing they can do is write letters & call. Whether you pay ancient debt or not is a personal decision.

I have 2 seperate bills that hit my credit report and they are both from RJM, I am pretty sure that both of them are mine but would like to know if they should have added the amount and only reported one combined account to the credit agencies? I have been also reading the horror stories and sympathize, and want to know how to NOT let that happen to me..

Default RJM Acquisitions LLC

Hey there! I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents, I had a collections account at RJM and disputed it, they were very quick to verify so I then sent them a settlement letter for $150.00 and asked they delete the reporting from my report. About two weeks later I received the settlement offer I proposed on their letterhead that also states they will remove negative reporting and that they are pleased to accept my offer of $150, it was great. I didnt even deal with anyone over the phone. Good Luck to you all!!!

Default RJM Acquisitions LLC?

I just received a statement from them trying to collect $102.00 from me. I have no idea what for. I recently pulled my credit report and I do not have any outstanding or old debt on my report. So who are these people and what are they trying to collect?

Default collection issue

Can RJM still collect on a debt that is more than seven years old? Don't they have to take this off my credit report if it's been over seven years?

Default collection issue

If a debt is more than seven years old doesn't RJM have to take it off my credit report? I thought if something was 7 years or older, it has to be erased from your credit report?
