Online seaches for this one were difficult. It first said it was "Simple Payday", but after digging more, I found that it belongs to A-1 Premium Budget, who also has ties with "Cash in a Wink".
Hope this information helps you.

I looked it up on the bbb site and it shows Simm Associates out of Newark. The message stated that they received a fax. Who the heck is Simm Associates?

SIMM Associates provides account receivable management services to the creditors. You can contact this collection firm at the following address:

Newark, Delaware 19702
Mailing Address:
SIMM Associates, Inc.
P.O. Box 7526
Newark, Delaware 19714

They are refusing validation. Monica refused payment arrangements because I wouldn't give my husbands employer information. He is not allowed to reeive these kinds of calls. She stated that I either pay up or other actions will be taken. I am getting a debt validation letter and cease and desist notice ready to mail this afternoon by certified mail with return receipt.
Do I have to give his employment information to a collection agency?

It is possible for the CAs to get the employment information by doing skip tracing and running your credit. You don't have to give them the information. Basically, a cease and desist letters functions to stop such contacts only. So, there's no need for you to give the information. If they want, they can have it from other sources. But it's understood, they don't have it so far.
Yes, your debt validation letter and C&D letter will cover the basis legally for you. You are right with what you are doing so far.

I feel if they actually have the debt, they would have had all the info.

This perhaps is always not important. The collection agency can always run credit check if they have a legitimate purpose.
Whether they have any of your debt details or not, it will be proven when they send you the validation info.

My father called to say that someone from the county legal dept was looking for me. They gave a name and contact number to pass along to me to call the county. I checked the number, and it is a debt collection company posing as a county legal department! Can they do this legally?
