I just had a call come across my called id from
000-000-0000, which I didn't answer. Then comes my message signal. Very unclear, but I think what I got was Jocelyn Brown with Simms Associates calling about a CIT investigation that requires my immediate attention.

Any clues on who this is and what they could be talking about?

This is a collection agency used by a payday lender called GECC. They turned me over to them but they have been very nice to deal with in my case.

Simm Associates, Inc.
200 Biddle Avenue Suite 200
Newark, DE 19702

This is the info I have found from BBB. Good to know that they are working with your consolidation company 2kid. I also appreciate your knowledge Mishele.

Crystal, according to the feedback on them, it seems you won't be in trouble with them. Keep us updated on how it goes.

Then what could be the purpose of the call? You have paid the loan back to GECC, right? Perhaps they are calling you for some other loan.

Do you have documentation of your payments made to GECC? Keep us posted.

My loan is just consolidated thru T & C - they are making payments to GECC on my behalf. I do have my statements from T&C showing payments made, so they should just be touching base with me.

Mainly I didn't want to call them back if they were Sonc in disguise, because I am tired of talking to them and now will only communicate with them by mail!

Thanks,
Crystal

GECC turned me over pretty quick but I am finding Simms actually easier to deal with. I just sent them a validation letter via certified mail. GECC is try to add 600 dollars onto my account is roll over fees and all this other junk. I have been pretty firm with GECC and let them know I will dispute these items. I have also disputed them with GECC and I am waiting on a response back from them. They are not licensed in my state to loan money. I think they might be licensed in either Nebraska or Delaware. I called them out on it which they didn't like. Of course, they have twisted my words around on me. I have proof of all of my correspondece though.

GECC did the same thing to me,I had a $500 loan from them that I had to keep renewing,When I closed my checking account they had just rolled over the loan but only got 300 from my account. When I called to make payment arrangments,I stated that I should owe $327 from defaulted loan (200 plus 127 fee) and 627 for the new loan, but 2 months later they sent a balance of $2700 to Simms and didnt bother to send them the payments that I had made thru the consolidation company. They told me that they dont roll over, each loan is seperate, and they continued to add $127 in interest to each loan over 16 days.So now $954 turned into $2700.Atlease for now Simms is not adding on any interest.GECC is the worst of all the payloan people that I have dealt with.

SIMM Associates refused payments because I wouldn't give my husbands employer or his work number. They haven't validated the debt and yesterday was the 30th day. Til they validate, no money will be sent to them.

Twokid,

I know GECC is horrible to deal with. I had made a payment to them through T &C and then they turned me over to collections. I am requesting my paperwork on them from T &C this week. I'm only going to pay the original amount of my loan plus the finance charge. They continue to add finance charges and roll over fees to my account as well. It's almost $1000 right now which is highway robbery in my book. I'm doing some investigation on this company. They told me the loan is out of their hands and to pay SIMMS. I checked GECC on the BBB website. I've sent all correspondence to them to the South Dakota address. It seems they might be licensed in Nebraska or Delaware. It seems Nebraska might be the strongest possibility because the BBB lists their license number with info on the bank commissioner in Nebraska. It lists a Delaware address as well. I sent out a validation request to SIMMS a couple of weeks ago. GECC didn't bother to let SIMM's know that I was working with T &C. I don't think we should have to pay hundreds of dollars more. I'm working on it so I'll keep you updated.

I received a phone call from a man with simms assoc. today, he was looking for a former son-in-law. He asked me to give him a phone # to call. He has been divorced from my daughter for over 12 yrs. The crazy thing was, her also had other contact names and her name was on the list along with her present husband. What do you think?

I wouldn't give him any information. If he calls again, tell him you don't know where he is and ask him to stop calling your house.
