Sonic sent me this email letter...is this all B***S*** or legal??

Please let me know what you think...

I've already sent them C&D letters and T&C has been in contact with them!!

Attention TRACI CANALES,

This letter is being sent as a Final Reminder regarding your outstanding loan.

We have attempted contact with you regarding your account over the past few weeks however, we have had no success.

Unfortunately this leaves us with no other option but to proceed with further action. To avoid this, your attention is required immediately.

Please call Henry Harris at 1 866 342 3756 right now to discuss the re-payment of your outstanding loan.

If you do not respond to this letter within 5 days, unfortunately we will need to turn your account over to a third party collections agency.

You can expect the following once your account is sent to the third party collections agency:

1. Your account will be listed with the Credit Bureau and your credit will be affected for the next seven years.

2. You will be unable to secure future credit with our firm.

3. Possible legal action can commence and all legal fees will be applied to your account.

They violated the C&D letter and you need to call T&C immediately and tell them what they sent and fax a copy to T&C. That is the exact same letter I received from them in the beginning word for word. It had at the top National Capitol Collections and in the upper left hand corner it had their Oaks, Pa address and in the upper right hand corner it had Coastline Credit LTD.

They called them and I started in filing compalints with the AG's and kept the heat on til they gave up. Now they are wanting to reloan with us. All we have to do is give hubby's new ss#. There is no way in hell I will ever take out another payday laon.

Request your consolidation company to take care of this matter. Once you have involved them in the process, they are required to negotiate with your PDL Company and you should not get any calls from them.

I talked to my HR person, and she said the only legal wage garnishments in TExas are child support, IRS, etc...see the following link about laws in Texas:

Sonic will "threaten" wage garnishment if I don't pay them the full amount. LOL!!!!

If you can hire an attorney, he will help you in filing a case against Sonic. Sonic has been involved in lots of fdcpa violations and other state laws. You can take some legal help if you can't manage the unfair activities of Sonic.

Don't worry, since you are in the fair and legal side, there won't be much problems in resolving the matter. Be sure that your consolidation company is sending the payments to them. Request for the monthly statements so that you know how your money has been applied.

With Sonic, I also filed complaints with the Attorney General of British Columbia Wally Oppal, and the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs Tonio Borg and the British Columbia Consumer Affairs and them know everything including about the wage assignments. Hopefully this will help everyone dealing with Sonic.
