I cringe to admit it but I've basically been, for lack of a better term, "kicked out" of 2 debt consolidation/counseling programs (Care One and AFS) because I had too many electronically drawn payments returned for insufficient funds. I am nervous about doing debt settlement, would prefer to try debt consolidation again - but my question is, 1) would any reputable debt consolidation accept me as a client given this history and 2) would my creditors be likely to accept the terms of a third consolidation program's proposals?
Thanks very much

You can take a free counseling from this website. Register here and someone will call you back. Every company has their own policies of doing their business but if you are sure of making the consolidation payments, they will be willing to help you out.
The creditors also want to get their money back. If you can assure them regular payments by your consolidation company, some facilities will be offered to you during this plan.
The consultant will negotiate with your creditors for waiving off the financial charges and other late fees. You will be offered easy payment plans so that the accounts get paid off. Have a free discussion from one of the consultants after registering in this site. It will be helpful.

Guest-CurlyCarl is right. Please sign up for the forum and the free couseling, they can give you more info relating to your problems. Also, feel free to check out the postings of others in this forum. You are not alone and many of us have or are where you are. The only thing I would say about the other two programs you were in is, from experience,I know if you don't learn from your choices you get to repeat them until you do. I am not saying this to down you,it's just that I kept myself in this vicious cyle by continuing to make choices that weren't too healthy for me. I also know that there are situations in our lives that we have no choice over and we have to do something just to survive. Try this forum and the counseling, you will get many solutions to help you to becoming debt free. Best of luck, let us know what happens ...Karen

I have been w/ American Consumer credit counseling for 1 1/2 yrs now. From what I understand...NOW (something was passed I THINK) the credit card companies CAN & probably will deny any new debt proposal if you were kicked out. Reason I know this is because I got caught in the payday loan trap & contacted T&C because ACCC does not handle payday loans. I wanted to just move everything from ACCC to T&C to make 1 pymt a mth. I was advised by both companies the credit card companies would not accept me into a new debt proposal company...and I have never missed a pymt to ACCC. I hope this helps. Again, this is just from what I understand.
