Lady Lucy,
We are a debt collection forum and message board and we do not debit anyone's account whatsoever. Do you have the name of the company that did this and perhaps we could help you with contact information? |

well, my suggestion to you is to get the money together and pay all of it off at once, otherwise that 250 loan will end up costing you ALOT more!

For example, my 250 loan with them ended up costing me over 600 dollars and they still claim I owe them 590

I'm in the same position with United Cash Loans right now. I took out a loan for $300 with a $90 Finance Charge. They have debited my account now for a total of $450. I called and talked to someone in collections today and they said that I still owe $405. I live in North Carolina and I don't want to have to pay these people one more penny when I have well paid the $300 that they loaned me. What do you suggest that I do? Should I close my bank account? I'm worried because they have my work telephone number
PLEASE HELP!

I would say you have already paid off your loan including the interest allowed by your state. Another $450 for a $300 loan, no way. Close your checking account if you have to otherwise they will take your money out. Also don't worry if they threaten you with criminal action, you can't go to jail for not paying a payday loan.

You are done with them. PERIOD. And payday loans are illegal and prohibited in North Carolina, you need to file complaints with your attorney general's office. And definately close that bank account, as soon as possible, they will continue to take more money if you don't.

I want to thank you for your advice. I did talk to my bank and they strongly suggested I close my account as well. This will be the VERY last time that I ever use a service like this. And to think that I just needed a loan because for the first time I was short on money  These people are terrible and I'm very concerned that they will start calling my work, but at least they can't take anymore of my money!

I've never dealt with United Cash, I have heard they are real a$$holes. But you are right, they can't take anymore of your money. Did you file complaints against them with your Attorney General's office yet? If not, I suggest you do that also. Another piece of advice, should they turn you over to a collection agency that goes by Bass and Associates or Bass Prelitigations, IGNORE THEM! And just laugh when they say you are going to be arrested.

No, they are not licensed in Florida. You will find they are not licensed to loan in any state, and probably don't even have a license to operate in the state they are physically located.

They have at least 2 physical addresses. One in Oklahoma and one in Nevada. They are not licensed in either state. I'm dealing with them, as well, and it is like pulling teeth to get them to respond to correspondence.

You should also file a complaint with Oklahoma and Nevada, it would be nice to report them to their own state as well and report them for operating without a license. I know Oklahoma will more than likely take action like they did against MTE.
