addie, both United Cash Loans and 500 Fast Cash are unlicensed/illegal lenders. They are d/b/a's of MTE Financial. Your best bet, and I know it stinks, it to close your bank account. These guys are horrible. They will continue to debit your account forever. You will also need to file complaints against them. File with the BBB, the FTC, and the state AG. You have more than likely overpaid both of these pdls; however, they're hard as you-know-what to get a refund from.

They called my house
A person from United Cash Loans left a meesage on my answering machine that I need to call them back and provide a landline number so they can process my loan.
1. I never applied for a loan and have never heard of them. 2. They left the message on my land line????? 3. I'm nervous that my ID has been compromised as I have recently had found some nasty spyware on my computer. So, I called them back at the number they provided (1-800-279-8511). The message was from a woman named Pat. I talked to a service rep and when they asked for my social security number, I told them that I would not give them that information, as I don't know who they are. I explained that Pat had called me and left a message to call her back. She (Tracey) that she could not help me because I'm not giving her my personal information. I told her that I could give her the number that Pat used to contact me. She said that wasn't good enough. I asked if she know who Pat was and she said that she did. I asked to be transferred to Pat and she told me that I can't contact Pat. Only Pat can call me. I asked to speak to her manager and she said that I couldn't because I wasn't a customer. I asked to be put in contact with their legal department, and she agian refused. I still extremely nervous that my ID has been compromised, but I'm not sure what to do aabout it. Any suggestions? jim, if you notice ANY deposits made to your account, have them returned immediately. If this does happen, close your account and open a new one, as they may have your bank account information. Check every single day to see if anything has been deposited into your bank account.

UCL
Hi everybody,
I live in PA and took out a loan with UCL for $300.00 back in April of this year. Since then I've had 625.00 deducted from my bank account. Now they are still calling saying I have a balance of 65.00 that they ofcourse need immediatley. I have paid back double what I borrowed and feel I shouldn't pay back anything else. They refuse to listen. Should I pay them or are they ripping me off? Thanks. Jim |

flyer, honey, they are ripping you off. First of all, in PA, pdls are prohibited. However, an internet lender will be "allowed" if they are licensed SOMEWHERE. This company is unlicensed, which means illegal. You have overpaid them $325.00 and they want another $65.00. Hell, no. They owe you a refund.

jim, if you could register as a member of the site, we can 'pm' each other. This is called 'private message'. TMBL or anyone can send you a letter to use through 'pm'. Can you register as a member & then we can 'pm' you?

What do I do if this is all just starting to happen to me? I recently took a loan out for $150 and was due to pay $195 on January 25, 2008. I did all the right steps to ensuring this bill was paid off but they only debited $45 from my account and said that i still owed $195 on February. There is no direct way to ensure they received my letters, emails, etc. How can I protect myself from them? I'm already going to close my bank account...should I change my phone number? They have my SSN too...please help!

Hello,
I have the same issues with this company as well as another. Can someone send me the letter I should be sending to this PDL? Looks like I will have to close my account. Thanks for the help. |

Another Question
Hello,
I have 3 payday loans. I live in TN. Below are the three lenders, amount deposited, and amount paid to this point: SSM - 300/360 Flash Loans - 400/480 United Cash Loans - 300/380 I looked on http://www.paydayloaninfo.org/state_detail.cfm?id=TN and it appears that none of these are licensed in TN. One, SSM, I did not sign papers for. It appears from what I can tell (which is not much since I do not receive any updated information from the lender) that they are continuing to roll them over. Below is the information from TN: Quote:
Where to Complain, Get Information: Regulator: Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions Address: 511 Union Street, Suite 400 Nashville TN 37219 Phone: (615) 741-2236 Fax: (615) 532-1018 Regulatory Contact: Bart Daughdrill, http://www.tennessee.gov/tdfi/ Close bank account if possible If not possible, ask bank to cancel withdrawals File a complaint on http://www.tennessee.gov/tdfi/crd/complaintprocess.html Is this correct? Also, how do I know if I have paid enough? Or, does it matter since I have paid at least the principal on all and they are not licensed in TN? Thanks for the help! |
