United Cash Loans: Be aware of this company

United Cash Loans is a loan company that provide cash advance services usually between paydays through its fast online application for up to $500.00 and delivers the cash within the next working day. To qualify for its loan service, one needs to have a regular source of income with $800 per month, have a checking account, must be a US citizen and has to be over 18 years of age.

Now, there are a lot of complaints against United Cash Loans. A few instances which indicate the extent they harass people are described below:
  • Some say that they get calls from telephone number 800-410-9275 and get a voicemail from a woman who says that she is calling from United Cash Loans and asks to call back at the same number by 5 PM on the same day to avoid further processing of loans, even though you have not applied for a loan.
  • Some say that they do not accept mails at their physical address. Moreover, they have an unsatisfactory record with BBB and they conduct illegal loan business in Nevada or Oklahoma, where they are not licensed to operate their business.
  • There are a few others who say that after denying loans, they deposited money in the checking account and they refuse to take it back. Later they call up and threaten to send to jail if you don't pay the money with interest as specified by them.
  • There are still others who complain that after taking a loan and repaying back the entire loan with interest, United Cash Loans is still drawing money out of the checking account (and has taken over 600$ on a loan of about 200$). In this way they are taking an overpayment.
If you have faced any such type of problem with United Cash Loans, you should immediately lodge a complaint with the FTC and the Attorney General's Office. Moreover, as in the third situation, if you have the documents which certify that your application has been denied and if you have the documents from the bank showing that they have deposited the money in your checking account; send those documents to the AG's office.

Alternatively you can also send a cease and desist letter to them if you find that they are continuously debiting your checking account even after full repayment of your loans.

If you want to contact United Cash Loans, you can get in touch with their toll free number 800-279-8511

I received a voicemail today from a woman named Kathleen Robinson with United Cash Loans at 800-410-9275. She stated that I needed to contact her today by 5pm to avoid further processing. When I called the number back, they answered United Cash Loans. Has anyone spoken with this woman and is she really calling from UCL or does she really work for a CA representing UCL?

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't locate that number but United Cash Loans has the following DBA's. That company is located in Oklahoma and is also under Rio Resources.

UnitedCashLoans
Quickest-Payday-Loan.com
Your-Approved-To-1000.com
1000 Payday Cash
Emergency-Cash-Loans.com

Found another one located in Nevada. You can look that up through the Better Business Bureau

Shbear,

United Cash Loans are conducting illegal activity. They are not licensed to lend in the state of Nevada or Oklahoma. They have committed alot of violations. This is a common threat with United Cash loans. Make them aware that you have knowledge of their non-licensure. What state do you live in? Do not let them intimidate you.

This group is not a member of the BBB. They are not accepting mail at their physical address, only by faxing or emailing the company. They have an unsatisfactory record with BBB. The number that is listed by the BBB is 800-354-0602 fax 888-570-9772

I have yet to find a state that they are licensed in. Here are the laws of Texas.

Quote:

TEXAS
7 Tex. Admin. Code - 1.605 et seq. (effective June 16, 2000); Tex. Fin. Code Ann. 342.601 et seq.
(special protections for military borrowers eff. 9/1/05)
Applicability: To payday loan or deferred presentment transaction defined to be a cash advance made in exchange
for the consumer's personal check, or in exchange for the consumer's authorization to debit the consumer's deposit
account in the amount of the advance plus a fee and where the parties agree that the check will not be cashed or
deposited, or that the consumer's deposit account will not be debited until a designated future date. Otherwise, the
consumer loan law applies. Tex. Fin. Code Ann. - 342.201 ($18 per $100 per year on the loans of up to $300; $8
per $100 per year on loans of $300-$2,500; add-on)
Exemptions: None listed.
Licensing requirements: Same as other lenders under Tex. Finance Code Ann. - 342.
Permitted charges: On a cash advance of less than $ 30, an acquisition charge that is not more than $ 1 for each
$ 5 of the cash advance. On a cash advance equal to or more than $ 30 but not more than $100, an acquisition
charge that is not more than the amount equal to one-tenth of the amount of the cash advance and an installment
account handling charge that is not more than $ 3 a month if the cash advance is not more than $ 35, $ 3.50 a
month if the cash advance is more than $ 35 but not more than $ 70, or $ 4 a month if the cash advance is more
than $70. On a cash advance of more than $ 100, an acquisition charge that is not more than $ 10; and an
installment account handling charge that is not more than the ratio of $ 4 a month for each $ 100 of cash advance.
Required disclosures: Must post a notice of the fee schedule; must reduce agreement to writing containing
the name of the licensee, the transaction date, the amount of the check, a statement of the total amount
charged (expressed as both a dollar amount and as an annual percentage rate, and the earliest date on which
the check may be deposited. The agreement must also contain the name and address of the Office of the
Consumer Credit Commissioner and the telephone of the consumer helpline and a notice that states: This cash
advance is not intended to meet long-term financial needs. This loan should only be used to meet immediate
short-term cash needs. Renewing the loan rather than paying the debt in full when due will require the
payment of additional charges.
Prohibited acts: The lender cannot make more than one loan to a consumer or to a husband and wife for the
purpose of obtaining an amount of interest greater than the amount of interest otherwise allowed. Lender
cannot pursue criminal charges to collect on the debt. Lender cannot renew a loan and collect an acquisition
charge more than once per month.
Loan terms: Term of payday loan cannot be for less than 7 days nor for more than 31 days.

These laws just basically tell me that a payday lender can loan money in Texas and charge fees at a certain amount. It doesn't tell me if they are licensed to do business in Texas.

I have hit them with the validation letter 3 times and they are not paying attention.

I have been trying to get rid of telmerica wwwcashnow and they are so rude. I found out they are not licensed in VA and so I called them and let them know that I already paid them $302 for a $200 loan and I want my loan considered paid in full. However, the person I speak to says they are licensed, etc. etc. She then lets me to speak to her supervisor who I go through the same conversation with and she says that I took out the loan illegally since they are not licensed in VA. I told her that no I have found out all this information since I took out the loan. Thank god for this site. I was transferred to the main boss who of course is not in and I had to leave a message. About 5 minutes later the first lady calls me back and says they are going to take the full amount of the loan on Friday. I said oh no you better not and when I mentioned being not licensed again she said lets not start that again. Anyway is there a letter I should send them or something that can revoke my authorization to debit my account. Please help as I am desperate.

Contact your bank and let them know what is going on and put a stop on the debit. They are not going to admit if they are not licensed to lend and you are not the one who took the loan illgally, they are the guilty ones for issuing the loan to a state they are not licensed in.

Yeah I finally got the bank to put stop payments on all 4 loans. They only made me pay for 1 so that was cool. I just hope that this stops it and then I can consolidate all my bills but I still haven't been contacted from this sight.

ccgirl31, usually, the consultant calls back within 24 hrs to 48 hrs. You will get a call from the consultant perhaps today or if not, you will get it definitely by tomorrow. Do let us know the outcome of the discussion you have with the counselor.

United Cash loans is conducting illegal business. They are not licensed to lend in the state of Nevada or Oklahoma. They have violated several laws. You will not be put in jail. You need to file a complaint with the Attorney General and Consumer Affairs in your state and the state of Nevada. Where they denied the loan then turned around and deposited the money in ny opinion, you do not owe them anything.
