Hello,

I have about 4500 dollars in payday loans. They were all done via the internet. I signed up with Langhorne Debt Solutions to have them consolidated. Does anyone know anything about them. Are they a reputable company.....I got scammed before. I am a little wary.Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Langhorne will charge you a fee and then they wont start working with you lenders until you have enough money in the saving account that you set up with them, when the time comes for them to begin settle your debts you will be in default of all you loans, I must say the lenders will harass you all the time fo at least 6 months. I had a contract with langhorne and I decided to deal with the lenders my self. So far of 5 PDL's that I had 3 settled for less and I still waiting on cash jar. Cash Advance Network is very difficult to deal with I refused to pay the amount that they want and they completely shut down comunication with me, I received an email that they will send the account to a third party collection agency and to be prepare to see them in my credit report...oh well....still waiting...

the amount is about 1200.00. The lawyer said they would settle for 800.00 and 50.00 a month. I said I cannot pay it. Can't pay my regular bills. They said ok, then a date will be set and papers will be delivered to you.

no they can't in fact.they would have to sue in your burough.btw PA is a non-garnishment state, and since your sole income is SS they can't granish,or seize your bank account.they are making empty threats.file AG complaints agianst this bottomfeeding CA.

do I have to show up for the court hearing if I indeed do get papers? Will the Judge make me set up a payment plan?

if,and that is a BIIIIIIIIIG if you do get served which i doubt.yes be there, and show the judge the fact that your on SS,and your bank acct is where it goes.it will get this collector nowhere to actually serve you.i'm guessing they think they can scare you into paying.you see being in PA they can't garnish, and being you are on SS and can prove your bank acct is where it goes.they can't touch that either.sounds like they are blowing smoke to me.

Hi, I would suggest you to go ahead and have a word with your nearby attorney to discuss the best possible option. Cause your attorney can only tell you what payday loan companies can do if you are not paying them in money.

I took out about 8 payday loans via the internet in 2008 and got over my head ($2500). I closed my bank account about August 2008. I received several emails from some of the companies, sent them letters stating I would report them to my AG and BBB. I live in Nebraska. When I researched the companies, I could not find any that were licensed within my state. As well, at the time, all payday loans were required to be paid within 30 days according to NE law. All was quiet until this week, yes, almost two weeks later. I had one very rude guy call named Paul. He has called twice in two weeks stating I committed fraud threatening that he was filing court actions within my county. He stated he was from some law firm in California, but the caller ID showed Maryland. The second was from a number in Nebraska for Money and More. She was very nice. I told her I was disputing the loan and she said she would send me paperwork to dispute next week. I have not had to pay back any of these loans and they have not tried to take me to court or garnish wages. Anyone have this same scenario lately? Has anyone been summoned to court two years after the fact?

I have 3 payday loans in the state of Kentucky and cannot pay them off. I have closed my bank account where these checks need to come through. The state of Kentucky is now posting a central data database which would show how many checks you have out, and you cannot have over $500 out at one time. All together I have about $1200 out.

So, I was just not going in to pay them because if they look on the database, I will not get my money back from them, and I will be behind in my rent and other bills. These are all local check places.

So, at this point I don't know what to do.

polly, can you answer me on this? or anyone that may know what I should do?

This is not fraud. Best of luck.

Actually, giving a company a check to cash & then shutting down your account is check frud, so I would be careful with that.

I am a store manager for one the loan companys that you mentioned. First of all whenever someone come sin to inquire about a loan I am very upfront and honest about the experiance which is how we train our employees to be. I tell them yes it is high intrest. These loans are meant to be short term loans! In every state we are located in we are required by law to have a poster hanging that states that these loans are meant to be short term and that consumers are advised to borrow the least amount possible and pay back as quickly has possible. Getting multiple payday loans and multiple companys is ALWAYS a bad idea! In fact several states have laws about that and they require loan companys to enter your name into a datebase when you have a loan so that you are not able to get another payday loan. The best advice I can give you is talk to the employee at the store and let them know what your situation is and get all of your options. Most likely they will be willing and able to work with you and help you get yourself out of the mess. Remember that although it may seem like a rip off you were aware of the terms you were given a copy of the legally binding contract that you signed and you willingly signed it. No one held a gun to your head to borrow that money. You borrowed it you spent and you need to pay it back. If not paid back most states can not criminally charge you but they will civially sue you and they will WRECK your credit. Please please please make the effort to work it out!
