I know I have seen posts on here about United Legal. Who are they? they have called me twice and someone named "Summer Winters" keeps calling and wanting me to return calls.

Lorri, do you have outstanding payday loans and are they in consolidation/debt management? If so, contact the company you are with and have them deal with United Legal. United legal collects for outstanding payday loans.

They have contacted me as well...I am also wondering which PDL has enlisted them to deal with me...I've either got them to settle or are with T&C, so United LEgal should NOT be calling!

For a while they called me about 15 times a day. I finally got firm with them and the phone calls stopped.

Well, I will be referring them to T&C. Do you think that "Summer Winter" is a fake name? I know they don't use their real names at places like that.

"Summer Winter" could be a real name but that's kind of funny. If it is real I feel sorry for her, can you imagine how much she got made of if that was her name growing up. Maybe her name was Summer and she married a guy with the last name of Winter. Who knows!

Get the debt validated in writing from United Legal. Also check your latest credit copy and see if they have hit your file. Collection entries hurt the credit scores severely. They must have a legitimate reason for reporting or else dispute with the bureaus and get their entry removed from your file.

There are numerous threads here on United Legal. Check out the following and know their business activities. I have heard most of the time that they do fraudulent reporting and fail to validate the debt. Use the FDCPA laws as an umbrella while dealing with such CAs.

I sent United Legal a cease and desist letter. cmrrr and never heard from them again. I'm not sure if that is good or not but so far not a word from them.

I recieved a phone call from an Adam Westbrook Offices. The guy didn't leave his name but he left the number 877-726-8525 ext 243. When I called back it was United Legal Corporation. I waited about five minutes for the phone to connect to the extension and then hung up. Can anyone give me a website or a good address for this company?

United Legal does collections for Rio Resources and I would image that they collect for the companies that Rio is associated with.

I received my first call from United Legal for the loan with Paycheck Today. The lady asked that I pay $480 and if sh can have my debit card, credit card, saving accoutn or checking accoutn info. I told her I only will pay via money gram, money order, or certified check. I was told if by money order or certified check, I must PAY TODAY or there will be consquences.

OHHH, Ok! When I asked for the debt verification in writing before I can proceed further to make a payment, the lady replied huffily that they mailed the letter out on 6/4. I was not aware they can mail letters on Sunday? When I pointed out that it was Sunday they mailed out the letter so thats probably why I havent received it. She said I was being rude (how was I rude....I only said I did not get the letter yet since they only mailed it out on SUNDAY!). She then stated proceeded that this coverstation was being recorded for her protection and my protection. I told her thats fine because I am also copying my converstation (I always do after calls with payday lenders), that is when she terminated the call.

So I will wait for the letter to arrive in the mail before I can do anything further.

When I spoke to someone there I referred them to T&C who is handling all of the PDLs. The person was actually pleasant, but I imagine they can (and will) get very unpleasant.

We do have one of our pdl's with them and they've actually been pretty good to deal with. They usually call to tell us they got our payment and ask when the next one will be sent. It's kind of weird but they have been nice. Rolling Eyes

Lorri and Sue, I think it is because I am not with T&C (I decided to do it on my own...we will see how it lasts lol!) that they were being difficult with me. I am waiting for that letter then go from there. Hopefully, the next person from United Legal will be more flexible in working out a payment arrangement.
