Universal Fidelity is a collection agency. They never sent me any bill stating what monies I am suppose to owe them. I am a disabled veteran with limited funds so and a victim of fraud and identity theft along with paying off my own bills. I sent them a cease communication letter to:

Universal Fidelity LP
1445 Langham Creek Drive
Houston, TX 77084
281-550-1444
800-807-1439

I hope this helps someone,

Attallah

Identity theft? I hope you filed a police report on that already.

They never sent me anything --now they say I owe $15.00 to a defunct company IE "Net bank" ( if anything they went under and owe me the money that was in my bank accounts)----from 2004
The lady got really rude with me when I asked for written proof of the debt--and said "just pay your bills" and hung up.

Do it the proper way, send them a debt validation letter (you can find a good template via the first link in my signature) send it certified mail, return receipt requested.

Hi - I have received numerous calls from these people attempting to collect on my ex boyfriend's account. I am no longer on this account and the credit card company has written a letter for me to fax confirming I am not responsible for this account. I have faxed it several times. What is the proper procedure for getting rid of these people and making them pay for harrassing me? They are so rude to deal with and hang up on me before I can ever say anything yet will not stop calling me. Should I call my lawyer? How do I build a case against them?

Well, first thing you need to do is send them a written request to cease all communication with you. If you wish you can send them a copy of the release of liability. As far as taking civil action, I suppose you might be able to push fdcpa violation as you no longer have any association with the person in question. Unless you already have a attorney in mind that has knowledge of the FDCPA then I would suggest referencing naca.net as a good start.

Be sure you get a consultation first to make sure you have a case.

In answer to your question - I have never had anything to do with them. However, the prior owner of my house seems to have.

At 8 a.m. today, they called my house. They asked for the prior owner, I said this is my number, not his. How did you get this number? And the little witch on the other end started yelling at me.

Does anybody know how I can report them, and to whom?

I looked at this site this morning because I received a call from them, at 8 a.m., and it was for the prior owner of my house. I don't even have dealings with them, and they are total little witches, RUDE.

The number they called me from was 614-789-4821. The caller yelled at me and hung up on me when I asked how they got MY # for prior owner. I called them back at this number and got yelled at again.

Their practices have to be illegal. It's the manner of collections used back in the 70's & 80's. Isn't it illegal to call before 9 a.m.? They yelling, etc?

We keep getting phone calls and when we pick up we get a recording. We have tried to call back now four times. They hang up, or we get a recording that is not in english or spanish. We're retired and have no credit cards or any outstanding bills, so we have no idea what they are calling about.

these people are creeps. my husband called them back, and he has a paralyzed vocal cord, so it is hard for him to talk. well, this girl answered andaccused him of pulling a prank and hung up on him, so I called back and told them they better never call again. just yesterday they called again, and I called the number and some man answered. He said these people have been bouncing numbers off their system, and have nothing to do with them. the number I called went thru to an
oil and petroleum plant. They are going to check into this and files some charges against them when they can find them. so if you get a number on your id 281-647-8931, don't call it back.

We received a call from UF recently asking for a specific sum of money. We asked for something in writing and the man said he was not in the business of sending bills to anyone that if we did not want our credit ruined that we had better send him this specific sum of money--just a few dollars less that $200. Again we asked for something in writing. He finally told us the company so we called the company. We had opened an account with this company about a year ago while on vacation, bought a couple of items but never received a bill or a credit card from them. We called the company and found out that they put the wrong address on the account the reason we never received a bill. We asked the company to correct their mistake, send us a bill and we would pay it. No word from the company but we are still getting calls from UF.

Perhaps the charges in question were fraudulent?

Same (Universal Fidelity) computer system called me (at least 100 times in the last 2 months, even at night), asked me to call them back to long distance (281) 6474152. I called them. They put me on hold at least 10 times. They do not tell you why they call o who they are. They are very rude and horrible (5 different people I talked with today). It is so bad they know your phone number and can do whatever they want, and you do not even know who they are and why they call you and they do not tell you. They hung up on me at least 10 times but before that they put me on hold for 10+ minutes. End of story is that they can keep on annoying me and I can not do anything. I blocked telemarketers but they say they are not telemarketers. Those people scare me since they have my phone number but I do not even know who they are. I wish there is something we can do to stop those kind of agencies. Is there a legal way?, and if the law can not help us, can we all annoy them at the same time calling them that phone number until they give up? Makes me feel worse than the third world
