sa,
One of our forum friends said this did not work for her. Unfortionatly in the world of bill collecting you never speak the the same person twice and more unfortionatly the person you speak with has complete control over what they will do for you even if it is wrong. Please advise if you tell them that you have read their membership agreement they should issue you a credit. This is what the agreement says
At the end of the thirty-day trial period, we will debit your checking account in the amount of $9.95. The cost of retaining membership is $9.95 per month. You may cancel your service at any time by contacting our Member Services Department. If for any reason you wish to cancel during the first 30 days after your checking account is debited, you may do so and receive a full refund of the monthly membership fee.
Good luck I hope it works for you! If not go to your bank and express to them that USA has frauduently taken money from your account. Your bank should credit the transaction and stop any more from processing through. If you go with this approach make sure you call USA and tell them to cancel your account!
Good luck!

Hi SA
Welcome to the forums.
To stop the unauthorized debits from your accounts, you can contact your bank and get in touch with the ACH department. Request them to put a stop payment on all the unauthorized debits.
Later, the lenders will contact you for this debt. Then you can ask them to validate the debt before you agree to any payment terms.
Regards
Roxette

I like most people on the posts here, knew nothing of my "enrollment" to this company, till I was over drawn in my checking account. I called my bank and they gave me the telephone number, they would not do a stop payment without charging me $28, however, I did call the 800 number for USA BENEFITS and demanded that they refund the money they withdrew from my account, as I authorized no such payments, they kept telling me that it is non-refundable, so I told them I would be contacting my lawyer, well that got me to a supervisor, that promptly told me all the payments would be refunded! So stand your ground. I then called my bank back, they can only return one of the overdraft fee's which is understandable. Good luck, I know I have now learned a valuable lesson about the internet!!!!

From what Im understanding,USa benefits is getting our information from a payday loan company, that we either applied for or received. The companies that I took payday loans out at said that they knew nothing about them, and one even asked me to email the information so they could look into it,Maybe it is someone on the inside selling them our information.

It all starts when you visit any payday loan site and you are offered a free credit report. That's the deal which USA Benefits puts upfront.

As this is something of Ameriloan as payday loan, as the $9.95 was deducted out of my checking account for credit report, but never see anything at all in e-mail and no sign in web either, as while on payday loan a offer came up at end of page and i never sumit it until I learned a $9.95 charge a month, as I stop there and never approved it as I didn't click on sumit button, and how is that being done without my approval ? best of all to cancel it.

Hi Stephen
USA Benefits has been regularly doing unauthorized debits on most of the consumer's checking accounts. Ask your bank to change your account number so that you can prevent this fraudulent activity.
You should also consult your attorney and file a case against them on charges of fraudulent activity in your checking account without consent.

I called the 800 number (800.809.5986) at 2pm on a Tuesday, and got an immediate answer. I spoke with "Darlene" at extension #2071, and she was very pleasant and confirmed that she would cancel the monthly charge immediately, and provided a confirmation number.
I'll keep the forum updated. Hopefully, this is the end of the situation. Good luck to everyone else!

They "screwed" me too. They are all attached to Payday loan services. If you do not read the fine...and I mean really fine..print, which must of us don't, they will put you in a membership that will debit 9.95 a month until you cancel. Call 800-809-5986 as soon as possible to cancel the account and make sure you get a conformation number. Forget about the refund, you will not get one. They have you "legally" signing and accepting the service so the payment for your first month is due at the end of the month. Even though you didn't know about them until they debit the 9.95, they have the contract signed by you which makes you "responsible". What a con, I wish there was some legal way to screw them, but it's our fault for not reading the full contract.
-Good Luck All

I just figured out that these people were debiting my account as well. I hadn't even noticed for 3 months! What a con! I guess all I can do is jump up and down scream a little bit and move on, its not like I'll ever see the 30 bucks again!

Hi bigdummy
Close your checking account as many have ultimately taken this as the possible solution. Also, you should file your complaints at the FTC and BBB as well as the state attorney general office.

Just looked at my bank statement and saw the charges. but I have not applied nor received a payday loan in the last 4 months. The first charge is listed on my october statement and a second charge for november resulted in an overdraft fee. I don't remember signing up for any of this. This can't be legal.

This has been a repeated incidence complained by many people in this forum. You might need to consult your lawyer. Also, keep a check on your credit report.
