No, the company is trying to intimidate you on false grounds. They must have the case at the court before garnishing your wages. Besides, federal laws state that the company must give the complete information about the debt before asking for money. Send a debt validation letter and cover your basis as per the legal terms. The company must honor your request before intending legal actions. They need to prove that you were trying to avoid a legitimate debt.

IN RESPONSE TO UR INQUIRES
This is funny! I work at west and find ur conversation hillarious....the real sad thing is to see the people who go to such lengths to actually dispute a $114.00 dollar debt....the answer is always im a consumer....wrong u were a consumer before ur account was charged off because ur a jerkoff and dont pay your bills like the rest of society...as for the lady with the acc on her credit report listed as west asset management, most of those especially small balances are medical accs which could of been placed with us for several reasons a)ur insurance was never billed and the creditor never billed u for the service just ur ins which probably explains why u know nothing of it cause it was a minute trip to office and is a missunderstanding...in this case all u need is a letter of the debt and submit to ur ins...b) you took a trip to the doctor and never paid its easy for people to take affence first but if u just called the # on ur credit report u could solve it very easily...i would suggest u send ur letter to the 2253 northwest pkwy adress as that is our posting office and will forward ur letter to our client services...who will be happy to send u notification of the dbt and any records from our client...chances are u called the wron office and no one new to forward u to our sherman tx office which has all medical accs that arent out of the bay area in california... In some sence ur right their are collectors who are not sure of where to look we get a lot of new people often as do most agencies and do our best to train in time they pick it up or are shipped out....and if ur trying to prove that u were not notified so u dont have to pay any judge that looks at ur case is gonna laugh in ur face a)uyou called the dcompletely wrong office b)u didnt even ask to who you could locate to find your file...ie. Our client services can do every inquery you have being they work directly with our clients...i find most of your comments hillarious because you guys speak out of pur ignorance and ideocity!!!...like the adresses on the blog before my post the first two adresses are offices if they recieved a letter and the acc wasnt in their directory guess where it goes...the round paper file...for those of u who dont know what that is its the garbage....the third adress is our posting office is the pmt posting adress its where we direct people to mail their pmts in...so in very sence almost all the adresses except for the last one will do nothing for you...oh and to explain why each site has a different system they run on so if u have an account in our new york office i couldnt pull it up in our atlanta office...we do have a main from for which i could locate ur account however and give you the new york office number to call...as for (guest) second blog up...we can and will continue to report the acc its not our fault the dbt isnt contacting the right people...afterall if the dbt was paid in the first place it wouldnt have appeared on her credit bureau report....u speak out of ignorance and unintelligance!!!...as for recording conversations who cares cause the company has made it policy to take away all phones that arent monitered we work on recorded lines already dumb ****....and as for getting it removed from your credit report good luck it takes an act of congress to make it happen so good luck with that its not just so easy as to telling equifax, which is also based in atlanta ga incase ur were wondering,we cant prove dbt a)we can b)in most casses you have been notified and their is record of it....it is against the fdcpa to send letters with our name plastered on it because anyone who got ur mail would know it was a ltter from a dbt collector it looks like junk mail which is why you probably threw away the one balance notification letter we have to send you per law provided you have updated our client with your current adress...we cant get dinged for you falsifieng or not notifieng the creditor of your updated mailing info....oh let me break for a glass of water.....as for you who think you can go withought paying your bills i would suggest otherwise we also have a lway office within our corporation...for your enjoyment ill leave out the list of clients that are sued and that arent....just be sure to pay your bills....ive always wondered where people get off thinking they dont have to pay...one of the most famous answers to telling somone they owe money and asking when theyll pay it is"i was never notified so i should have to pay it"....since when do you have to be told to pay your bills really seriously and just because your the **** that decided not to update your file with your correct mailing adress in hopes the bill will go away...the bill isnt going away you owe it you know it, its hillarious what i hear on a daily bassis seriously 95% of people who owe any dbt are soo f**king irresoponsible it kills me...i guess thats why their in collections in the first place...i love collections i get a since of astisfaction when i make soone pay...i never settle ig et the balance or nothing...it gives me the same pleasure as a cop because in all actuality you people are thieves...whether its a cell bill, medical bill, credit card bill, department of education bill, tax bill, repossesion, chk acc overdraft its credit that was extended to you. If you let somone borrow an amount of money and they never paid it back they would of stolen from you right? Right! So really i cant wait to see the responce to the post! Were not all bad people as most people think and i do admit their are the occasional people who have accts placed in error which i feel ms texas has had happen to her, or somone somehow overlooked the acc which happens but they pay it....so people just pay your bills on time and you wouldnt have to worry about somone calling you between the hours of 8-9 which is perfectly legal in every state...even if your eating dinner!!!!

DEAR SIDNEY LOYD
Dear sidney yes yes yes, a is perfectly legal to contact you at work especially in regards to wage garnishment and ill let you know if they say they can they can, all our lines are monitered so no ones gonna make a fumble as to tell you you could be granished if you cant they have been instructed to use this, and if you hung up on them as a collector i would send ur ass to the legal department for sure...i used to do legal collections its fun, all u need is a licence to practice in your state and if i call you and you dont paythen is perfectly legal to garnish your wages...let me explain a)we need your place of employment clearly which they have, a current adress which im sure they have also where you can be served and if not at your home no adress to serve you than at work which is all legal...wouldnt that be fun...hey look youve been served...wasnt that a movie...anywho they can garnish up to 25% of your monthly income,..infact they really dont even need to call you if you dont answer the phone the fact that you have a bal outstanding and isnt paid once cent is reason enought to file for a garnishment...the onlynotification youll get is the court order that your wages are now being garnished....all we have to do is file with the court and contact your employer for all your payroll info which they have to give per court orde and give adress for the 25% monthly to be sent in....an their you have it you have refused to pay and we have the right to garnish your wages..chances are you threw away the initial notice mistaking it for junk mail, and our system shows every letter sent off so we have clear documentation of that first notice for your responce...your best bet is to call the collector and set up arrangments before a court does it for you...if they arent in the process already only takes a short while...either way the collector will get commission off you or the legal collector who set up your wage garnishment will infact if they garnish you our percentage of the cut goes up and so does th balance you pay legal fees and any accruing intrest....so i would probably call and set up arangements they may settle the account out for a redused payoff...if garnished ur responsible for full bal and any fees

"....The real sad thing is to see the people who go to such lengths to actually dispute a $114.00 dollar debt...."
Typical scam tactic from a collector. File a bullshiat negative mark on somoenes file, make the bill small enough that the victim will "just pay it" to get their credit back and to stop the harrassment. "and if you hung up on them as a collector i would send ur ass to the legal department for sure...i used to do legal collections its fun, all u need is a licence to practice in your state and if i call you and you dont paythen is perfectly legal to garnish your wages..." I dont even know why we have bank heists, this is much easier and somehow legal! All you need is a licence to commit fraud? Who knew? The reason people despute 114$ collection agency bills is because theyre fraudulent! The reason we despute collection agency bills is because some jerk from the agency lied to the bureaus and screwed our credit to see if they could get us to pay - we all know you work on commision. If you collectors would stop lying, stop committing fraud, learn to spell names and record phone and ssn numbers correctly, maybe the people who do accually owe you money wouldnt be so reluctant to pay you. Its not that we fear you collectors - its because we dont trust you! Happy scamming! |

"Seriously over $114.00..."
Yup seriously over 114$! "i have fraudulently got your employment info adress numbers and ssn in hopes to scam you out of $114.00....." Happens alot - look at the 100's of posts in here. "im not a a whack job shouting out conspiracy...." Do you think we all know each other and have gotten together over a beer and decided to make up lies about collection agency horror stories? "i guess thats why their in collections in the first place... Alot of us are in collections because collectors dont care if they make mistakes or have the decency to check their entries. I love collections i get a since of astisfaction when i make soone pay..." We know, thats why alot of us are here, trying to figure out how to stop collectors from making us pay money we never owed for their personal satisfaction and beer money. |

I love how you reffrenced beer more than once in your response....it lets us all know...i will give you credit though for taking my response out of text and alterring them for your own propaganda...no one is frauding you silly you need to pay your bills your an adult remember...i am appauled as i am daily on the phone to see how delusional adults can be...the horror stories in here are for the most part people trying to catch collection agncys doing something illegal in hopes to sue and get big money or atleast get out of paying their responsibilty...their after quick cash or as you reffer to it as "beer money" which is their mentallity which is why they rack up credit card dbt because its "free money" maybe if you were on earth you could see that...its sad really

No Keg party here.
I dont own a trailor but I do own a nice cottage 4 hours away from my house which is 1 hour away from my condo. I would have to rack up quite a bill to not be able to pay it. I update my file regularily so as not to have fraud attempts from collection agencies. Assuming that my privacy was protected was ignorant on my part. There are people here who are suffering from the same illegal activities as I did when I was trying to finish university. This site helps us with our "ignorance" regarding the practices of collection agencies. |

Listen here Collector #1, You know nothing about us and how we ended up in the situations we are currently in. You have no right to come in here and judge people. I am sick and tired of people like you coming in here thinking you are above all of us. There is no need for cursing at the end of the last post. No one is playing games with the creditors! Did you ever stop to think that alot of us have contacted our creditors to ask for assistance and being told they couldn't do anything for us. Why don't you leave this forum with your negativity and find someplace to go?

Nope, my sister lives in the condo - all the condo fees go to my address which I pay inclusive of her rent wich she pays me. "...make the dumbest ignorant most retarded assumptions that they are so great somone would want to steal their identity" I wasnt where I am now in university...quite hungry accually, which is why its sad that this happens to people who cannot afford to fight back. And yes, I do own property, wich I can guarantee YOU, YOUR FAMILY, and FRIENDS help to support thorugh your purchases! But I can tell you, I will NEVER support you in your job because I pay my bills - some of which I accually have credit twords due to over payment. "everyone looks good behind a screen sweets..." Not you... |

Based on the fact that both of my living properties were purchased prior to being built theres little chance an agecny will try to atach our names to any bills that were incurred before us. My cottage is a double time share so all of the payments come out of the corperation, again, doubt there will be missed payments. I wouldnt be surprised if some dirty collection agent does try at some point tho... they need to get their money somehow. If it does happen again, I hope its you Collector... I now know my rights and have the ability to legally fight back. |
