I received an email for US FastCash regarding the debt verification letter I sent them. Along with the letter, I noted the finance charges, per the state of Indiana, they should be charging. They indicated in the letter:
| Quote: | ...we are troubled when someone uses tactics such as yours... Regardless, we believe the collection on your account, in lieu of your letter, would waste more money on our part, than the account is worth, because you paid (barely) the deposit amount only....we are writing off the balance of your account.... |
If I had never found this site, I would still be in a big bind. Thanks to everyone who offered me advice!!

Hi truwoman31
You hit them where it hurts hard!! Now that the company has written off the balance, you should get a statement in writing that nothing is owed towards the account.
Spread the word of checking the state laws first before paying excessive charges to the lenders. Most of the lenders assume that we are uninformed about it and will pay anything to what they charge. I am happy that you exercised your legal rights at the right place.

Truwoman-David is right, get it in writing that nothing is owed and account is clear. You don't want them trying to sell the balance due to some other jerk!...Karen Way 2 go
