One day! One change!

Message Author
PostPosted: Fri Oct 26, 2007 2:11 pm Subject: One day! One change!

It is Friday again and my desk is being left looking like an a Paper Recycling Facility. Monday I am determined to clean my desk and get organized. Then the following day I am going to make another positive change in some area of my life. And the next day and the next and so on. If I make a positive change every day even if it is small, like not leaving my shoes where I will trip over them, after a while my life should look completely different. One change at a time. So who wants to join me? Friday Frog question: What needs to be and will be changed in your life for the better. No diets please!

I know this sounds minor, but for me its taking my empty cups out of my car every day.

Good idea! Mine will be not leaving mail and schoolpapers on the kitchen counter.

Not letting the unopened junk mail pile up. I need to just throw it away.

Put up my school books when I am finished instead of leaving them laying all over the desk.

Morningstarr - I'm there with you on the coke caps! But you could spend a few minutes typing them in to participate in a contest to win something big. Otherwise what is the point, there is no way you can save up enough to get anything big! I figured out how much money you'd spend ~$4000 on soda in order to get a $200 mp3 player! I know I can't drink that much soda, and I drink alot!

Thats such a great thought. Life is not about making few big decisions right rather it is about making a lot of smaller decisions right. One good change a day will bring a lot of change in our life, good thought.

I think I will start by cleaning out my car and recycling an old shopping bag...those plastic ones that end up in the landfill...and using it as a trashbag in the car. My husband uses the car more than me, and he leaves his coffee cups and cigarette boxes in the passenger side floor. When I get in to go anywhere, I have to step on trash. Who knows what else is living in that pile! Shocked

poko...you are so right!! I never thought of it that way...I am planning on doing that tonight...I will enter the contests instead of trying tosave them for something...that I probably don't need any way!!!

All the talk about cars made me think too...I cleaned mine out after work today and threw away all the little trash...and cleaned out the trunk!!

the trunk of my car is where I shall start --I think there might be something growing in there-but I will smile with gas mask in hand --just in case it's contagious! And perhaps I can find something now vintage or collectible that I can sell on Ebay as a token reward for my progress! Just kidding--my trunk is a neglected mess--the groceries don't fit in it anymore! Will get- er -done tomorrow--thanks for the inspiration frog! Onward and Upward!

Apparently I have OCD and have nothing to "put away" or "clean out"! LOL! If I'm not organized, I have a friggin panic attack! So Frog, I'm going to say that I am going to start taking my little doggies for a walk each day. Even if it is just down the road and back. They'll love it, we'll "bond" more, and it's exercise! Now....just to make sure I actually do it......

Actually, Cannr, you and I have something in common...I am extremely organized...everything has a place and everything in its place. I have to have clean sinks, counters, floors etc and everything where it belongs every day ..or I can not sleep. My office is the model of organiztion and whether at work or at home I know where everything is...even if it is not mine. I guess my one thing would be to ease up a little and allow just a little clutter in my life...but I do not know if I could survive it. Laughing

Roxy...I consider myself very clean and organized...but I just had a reminder thought...for all of you with kids...I remember years ago when I was newly a single mom...I was always so intent on keeping everything in order...spend my free time straightening rooms, doing laundry, dusting every day, etc. Sometimes my kids would ask me to do something with them and I'd say...sure as soon as I'm done...then they would go their way and I mine...finally one day my then 10 yr. old son asked me to shoot hoops with him...and I said I would as soon as I finished the dishes and the he yelled at me..."you are always cleaning or doing something...you never have time for us any more"...My heart broke in two instantly...and from that day till now any time they ask for me...I'm there...everything else can wait. We never know how much time we will have here and what could be more important than shooting hoops with your son?? Or roller skating with your daughter??

Just a little reminder to stop and smell the roses. Laughing
