Here ya go!
We left off with Morning flying off with the volleyball girl and leaving me behind with hopes of her keeping her promise to return,
I watched as they flew higher and higher and further away. I thought to myself that it must be really frightening to be up there. Maybe I will try walking in that direction instead. Looking off toward the direction they went, I could see what looked like swampland. I decided to sit it out.
Now the clouds had cleared and there was no place to get out of the increasingly hot sun. I was getting very thirsty. I guess about an hour or so had past since they flew off. I sat there in the grass and continued to wait. I heard a noise off in the distance. It was a creaky rattling sound with hoof beats. Down the dirt road I could see something coming from the same direction as we arrived. As it got closer I could make out that it was a horse drawn wagon. Then I could see that there was a man, woman and a small boy riding in the seat and back was empty. The wagon came up the hill and stopped on the road about 50 feet from where I sat. I got up and walked over. The couple looked as if they were right out of an old western. He was wearing suspenders and a straw hat and she was in a floral print dress and a bonnet. The boy who I guessed to be about ten wore suspenders also.
“Mornin’!†the man said.
“Good Morning†said his wife.
“Good Morning.†I replied.
“What are you doin’ out here al by yourself?’ the man asked. “Horse throw ya?â€
“No, I am waiting for someone.â€
“How long ya been waitin?â€
“About an hour.â€
“Where ya headin?â€
“I don’t know?â€
“The closest town is Hitchcock. I would be glad to let you ride in the back.â€
“Where am I?†I asked.
“You are about 50 miles northwest of Tulsa.†he replied.
I started to think about the warning from the pug not to trust anyone but Morning.
“No thanks! I’ll wait!â€
The man and woman started looking a little uneasy and I was not sure why when suddenly there was the light of Morning behind me. Her loud voice screamed.
“Go away you creatures of darkness. Go now!â€
The man, the woman, the boy and even the horse suddenly shrank and transformed into little gargoyle like creatures. They snarled and drooled and ran down the hill suddenly just vanishing into the ground.
“Come it is time to go.†she said.
In seconds we were soaring high in the clouds. My back was to the ground so I could not look down which kept me at ease. I was comfortably being held by and holding on to this lovely creature. I was really starting to enjoy this trip when she spoke some of her few words.
“When I say let go, you must let go. If you don’t you will get hurtâ€
I could see tree tops now on the side of me and we were going slower.
“Let go now!â€
I did and I landed in a big pile of hay.
She landed near by, walked over to me and said..
“I can’t land when I am carrying someone.†I hope I did not scare you.â€
“The pug said I could trust you and I did.†I answered.
“Follow that road for a mile or so and you will come to a house. There you will find safety, food and drink. Your friend is there as are others who will accompany you.
“Thank you!†I said. She turned back to light and floated away.
As I walked down the road I entered some woods with a marsh on one side. I began to hear music in the distance. Zydeco music! I guess this isn’t Oklahoma.
To be continued………….
