I have been going to yard sales and estate sales and thrift stores for thirty years or so. I have probably made over 100,000 dollars in my life time selling much of it. I have sold over 3000 items on ebay. I don't sell anymore, but my wife and I still go. The past two weekends we found a old painted green table that some farmer made in the 1930s to fit under a window. A vintage cotton Hawaiian shirt that was never worn, in my size, actually made in Hawaii in the 70s. A 50.00 pictorial cookbook for 1.00 and lots more. Does anyone else here like to go to sales and if so what have you bought?

I bought an antique spinning wheel this past summer at a barn sale, in upstate NY. The people didn't know what they had, and sold it to me for 3.00. It actually had some old yarn still stuck to it. I bought two crystal angels made by Lenox for 1.00 each. They retail for 75.00. Again the people did not know what Lenox was , and virtually gave them away.

We had one growing up...my parents collected antiques. I look for old picture frames. I bought a bean pot for 10.00, my mom said it is worth much more...she said she would tell me when she gets here.

I once bought a small jewelry lot on ebay for about $10. One of the items in the lot turned out to be a gold watch that I resold back on ebay for $179.

I used to collect Disney things. I worked at agift shop that had those Disney Classics figurines, and I bought a bunch the first year they made them. All with original box (of course) and first year stamp marks. I sold the Jimney Cricket that I bought for $35. I sold it on Ebay for $145. This was about 10 years ago. I have a few more of the pieces in the garage in boxes. I use the Xmas ornaments evey year, though. Not selling those.
