Well I am going to be moving soon again. Finally I am able to get out of the big city for smaller town living. I couldn't be more excited. Better schools and community for my kids. What more could a girl ask for?!

Good luck to you FYI. I know what it is like to live in a small town. I live in a very small town and choose to do so for my children. They complain that there is not much to do but at least I know they are safe.

Congratulations, and best of luck.
We're currently in a 'big city' of 18,000 people. Hate it! Before that, we were in a small town of 200. Someday soon........

Congrats!!
I am NOT a small town girl..I lived in Tampa the first 23 years of my life, now I live in tiny Holland Michigan..Only 100,000 people. Hate it.

Glad to hear that your happy. IMO moving sucks, getting packed up then having to move everything in and sort it all back out. But it's worth it.
Best of luck with the move.

I actually used to love moving. It wasn't until this past few years that I've actually wanted to buy a home. Now that my husband is going to be starting a new job that will be put on hold but it's worth it.
For the first time in a while I watched the news on tv. I normally just check the internet. There is nothing but murder and mayhem along with corrupt political type people. I am glad to be moving!

Congrats FYI!!! I chose to have my kids live in a small town in South Carolina(Beaufort) with my mom. This allows me to finish nursing school and get all my affairs in order. And I can tell you that they are doing so much better. The school systems are a lot better there than where I am currently at.
Finsfan I am in the Tampa Bay Area......how ironic.

fyi I wish you the best of luck! ...some of my children attended a kindergarten through 8th grade school for several years (because I moved away from Big City life.).small town is often a good thing..hope you don't end up missing the rules and specifically regulations and crime that big cities are full of as Lady so knowingly speaks of
..crime is rampant everywhere...15 years ago..someone in this small town we lived in was stealing things out of one of my son's lunch...in the 2nd grade!!!!..he was my most imaginative child ..would get home from school and be like "mom I'm soo hungry are you mad at me?"( I stuffed this kid's lunch box full of homemade things every morning okay?)
sooo.....
...when I finally found out about it.. weeks later things being stolen out of his lunch box...I talked to school principal who actually ..I SWEAR TO GOD! told me it was MY FAULT because I packed home made cookies and goodies in his lunch box..too tempting for others!..and even tho girl stealing out of his lunch box(witnesses in class) received FREE breakfast and free lunch..yet..it was somehow my fault that she took things out of my son's lunch box because I put TOO many good tempting things in there!!!!...(but my son thought I was somehow punishing him when he opened up lunch box and got friggin hungry!)...I always knew small towns and schools are the best..just stay on top of situation! and good luck to you! also..if you are in a small town where young children ride the bus with older children...don't put your kid on that bus!..I had a kid that someone said they would break his nose..(kid was in second grade..nose breaker was in 8th grade)when I found this out I..told nose breaker that I would personally kick his a###..and there would be so many people left in line that he wouldn't have an a## left! Kids in small towns get pointed out and picked on especially if they are new to community..this happened to me and my family many years ago when I did what I thought was best for the kids..hope you will stay on top of it and once again Good Luck..we as parents always end up blaming ourselves for what ends up happening to our children!!!! small towns are great!!! if you don't expect too much!!!! because when you get in small towns you also deal with small town mentalities and opinions ! Good luck again! California stories are probably way different than other experiences Good luck again!

Congrats on your move to a small town, In September we left KC, MO where the schools actually showed us bulletproof backpacks to a small town in Southern MO, where they probably haven't heard of bulletproof backpacks. I will take small town mentality over drive by's, stabbing, bodies found everywhere and living somewhere profiled by the First 48 and KC Swat anyday...
