No! I'm not looking for another job. Not yet anyway. I've been thinking about going back to school again and if I did that I would need to find a job that would pay well and accomadate my schedule.
Is there anyone here that might have some helpful ways to do a resume. I've never had to do one before.

Try going to MONSTER.COM. I think on there it gives you the opportunity to create a resume. I believe it takes you through the steps needed to complete.

I think you also have to tailor your resume for the specific job you're trying to get. My husband, for example, had two resumes when he was working: one tailored for the military with all of his military experience on it and one for the civilian market. It was all the same information, just written differently.

FYI,
I have found my local library an endless source of information and help with my last resume. The books their are endless on this subject and have many templates for you to use. They also have computers and copy machines for you. Just a thought.

FYI - Many word processing programs (like Word or WordPerfect) have templates built in - and resumes are in there. Check that out.

I have used the resume format on my word program and it works very well...also lets you personalize it and make it a little creative. I also agree it's a good thing to taylor it to job specifics...for example: I have been an Optician for 34 years...and a manager for about 22...I have one resume that highlights my optical background and another that highlights my office management/people skills.

Before this job I currently have, I helped build resume's for clients when I worked for Goodwill (employment program) and we used books that we purchased with templates that are very good. You can find the same types of books at the libraries.
The WORD program is good for a template, however, it does not help much with the wording you need to use. If an employer gets too many resume's that look alike (kind of like the Word templates), they tend to not want to take the time to distinguish one from another. Regardless of how much experience you have! Here are some examples of what I used to help my husband snag the position he is now in (keep in mind he is in the transportation field):
Extensive dispatch and routing experience
Solid records of advancement based on performance within the company
Skilled in the supervision of daily disptach functions including but not limited to the assignment of power equipment to drivers to best servce the customer
Knowledgeable in the AS40 system, Microsfoft Outlook, Excel, Word, EDI (Electronic Data Intechange) and Innovative
If you need some help, PM me and I'd be glad to assist you!

One more chance for my 2 pennies...
I know that if you go to most of the major job sites like Monster, Careerbuilder, etc, alot of them have build-your-own resume tools. The job site for my hospital chain also has one, btw. This also might be an option for you. Good luck!

The key is to have some really good distinguishing differences between your resume and the next person.
Research some words to use that will be eye catching and attention grabbing to the hiring manager and you will be fine.
