Hello all,
This site and the people on it are great! I have been looking for posts that relate to my situation. I had some car problems and ended up filling out one of the online loan deals i always get in my e-mail. I got a $400.00 loan from PayDay2Go and am supposed to repay $500.00 (thats not so bad). The problem is that they are taking $100.00 out of my account the day my check posts & i just can't afford to give them the full 500.00 all at once to get them to stop. They have taken a total of $725.00 so far and will be hitting me again friday. Even if I could pay them off today (which I Can't) it will have ended up costing me $1,250 for a 400.00 loan! So much for Christmas...I have learned from this site that payday loans are illegal in GA. any suggestions?

Close your account so theycan not get any more money from you.
Please read the stick on the top of this page before closing your account.Open a new account at a different bank and do not give out this info to any one

Done...
I did not go to a new bank though. It was too late to get a paper check from my job and the bank manager said that they will redirect the direct deposit to the new account. She also assured me that the old account will not pay the PDL or charge anything aginst the new one. The only other question I have is how should I proceed with the PDL. Should I just forget about since their illegal in Georgia?

Good going with your checking account. I also had payday2go. They waited about 3 months and then they contacted me. You have already paid them 725 on a 400 loan? They owe you a refund.Try to get that but settle for a pif at the very least

Well CRAP!!!
My employer just informed me that PayDay2Go contacted them about a wage garnishment. He said he wouldn't do anything unless it is legal. Can they do this??? and if not then why are they talking to my boss.

I believe that they meant wage assignment , which is completely voluntary and can be revoked at any time. Just send them a letter telling them you revoke any and all wage assignments that you have signed with them or their affiliates.
A wage garnishment is different. You need a court order to garnish someones wages

I just wanted to thank you for the help here. This site and all the great advice on it really saved my butt. If I haden't been forewarned with the knowledge I got from reading all the other posts I would have been in BAD shape. My boss recieved the wage assignment yesterday. It looked pretty official and he thought he was bound to honor it. Because of what I learned here I knew better. I explained the situation and told him that I had already paid over $700.00 on a $400.00 loan and have no intention to give them another $690.00 that they say I still owe. I gave him a copy of the letter revoking the wage assignment and he was satisfied. He then called them back and told them that he would not take any action until he recieved a court order. They promptley hung up on him. It was actually pretty funny. Thanks again.
