I got this loan agreement in the mail from Western Financial address is: 390 College St. Burlington VT
Phone # 1-800-963-5134.. I tried to check the BB on line to see if they had any complaints or info but nothing came up... does anyone have any info on this company... are they legit??? One thing that troubles me is this... their papers look very official but they ask 1000 dollars for loan insurance as a security to be given back after 12 monthly on time payments... that raised a red flag but just need some opinions.. any help is appreciated...

Run the other way is my opinion. What you are dealing with is an advanced fee loan. The FTC has very unkind words about them here:

Advanced fee loans tend to be fraudulent.

Is your personal info already submitted with Western Financial? If yes, you should be more alert on your bank account because they might try for any fraudulent debits and take away your money.

If you haven't given your personal info, you are still safe.

Documentation is important. Send a cancellation letter to the loan company. This should prove that you are no more interested in taking any loans from them. Send it CMRRR.
