Looks as though they are licensed to do business in California as a deferred deposit PDL (you write a check, they give you cash now, then 2 weeks later they deposit your check for a profit. Terms other than those below are in violation CA state law.

That said, I hope you can avoid doing business with any PDL company. They prey upon people in distress, and far more often than not, make bad situations worse.

i didnt write them a check. i signed up online and they said i was aspproved and the money will be there tomorrow morning... but they have my checking account # so they can put the loan in there. is that the same as writing a check?

No, it isn't the same thing, unless your contract authorized them to create one on your behalf. You've given them the means to put money in, AND take money out. Make sure they are following the terms in the post above, which I already do not believe they are doing. The terms of your loan must comply with the above post. I already do not believe they are adhering to the law. If (when) they do not, file a complaint with the state Attorney General. Do not let them take advantage of you!!

Check City is a decent company. They treated me well when I had a bad debt with them. Their collections department was understanding. I know, kinda strange for a PDL but that's my experience. I know they are located in Utah and Nevada.
