need to know if anyone knows any website that will approve a loan for a credit score of 520 or less. it will be for a personal loan for a private party purchase automobile

Different lenders will look into your credit report in a different way. This three digit credit score is very important in analyzing the financial worthiness of a consumer. They will look into the following areas in your file
1 Your payment history is analyzed.
2 The amount that you owe is taken into consideration.
3 Length of your credit history is determined.
4 They look out for the types of credit that you have used so far.
5 They will look into your new credit.
You may need to work on these areas before you can get the best deals from a lender.

You don't want to go to a website to get a loan. You will want to try in your area. Have you tried a local credit union? Sometimes they are easier to get loans through than a bank. We did that, the bank we were banking with for well over 10 years wouldn't loan to us at all. So we tried the local credit union and in the past year we have gotten 4 different loans through them and our score isn't much more than yours. So yes we closed our account with the bank and now the credit union has ALL of our business. Plus they take out our payments before our checks are deposited into any accounts. So no mailing or writing out checks for payments. And they treat you like a person not an account.

I think Prosper will make a loan with a minimum score of 520 (their site is under maintenance as I type).

To add....STAY AWAY FROM PAYDAY LOANS!!!! These will really get you in trouble. Check into other avenues to get that car loan and do not rely on these to come up with the money you need.

Yeah morningstar the last I heard the minimum score for prosper is 520......there was someone on here the other day that said they got turned down because of their score of 518.
