Anyone know of a good resource for comparing personal loan lenders? I have good credit, but I'm looking to consolidate my credit card debt under an unsecured loan with a better APR.

I have to wonder if you'd be better off applying for a credit card that was offering a 0% interest rate on balance transfers.
If you insist on a loan, you can take a look through bankrate.com.

Prosper.com.........I've tried to use them one time. However, to make a long story short, I was asked for fees upfront. So..it wasn't a pleasant experience from the get-go. People, on this site, are telling me that Prosper doesn't ask for up-front fees, or fees of any kind. Just thought I would give my opionion on them. If I am asked to put up a fee, to get a loan, I don't even bother with the loan. If you DO use Prosper, I hope your experience is better than mine was.

I have two loans with prosper for more than a year, and I never heard or paid in fees up front. Maybe it was a site that was trying to be deseptive.

Maybe you're right, LUKE. I've read nothing but GOOD things, on this post about Prosper. It's been a long time since I 'applied' to them, however. How do they work? I mean would you % rate be more if you have bad credit? Do they actually loan to those with bad credit?

Yes they loan to people with bad credit. YOu have to be, I think, above 560 FICO score to get the loan. My first loan for 2,500 was at 20% for 3 years at 85.00 a month. Alot better than a pay day loan.

Yes, they pull a "soft" report from you. Imale, you can get a free credit report from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion once a year. I would do this to see where your credit stands as soon as possilbe. Go to www annualcreditreport dot com. If that is the wrong site, I do hope someone will come along soon and set you up with the right one.

thank you,
luke
