Just got word at work, about BoA scam. Our company uses BoA cards at work, and I thought I'd pass it on since I know other people on here have a BoA Acccount.

One of my coworkers fell for that about a year ago.It was a mess to clear up. The sad part is that she did not even think about it.......she had never given BOA her email address, and fell for it anyway

I have gotten these scams from Paypal fakes also.

I know I get the paypal phishes all the time. Hence why the actual companies always tell you "we will never ask for your personal information." Why? Because they alread have it. No need to verify it, if you do need to verify anything they should be telling you numbers, and even then if someone really has you, they could do that too, so be ware of everybody.

The BoA is being circulated again, one new big wave of it, so I thought I'd warn people....

A guy I use to work with received some of those, even from places that he doesnt' have accounts with, so one night he sat at his computer and filled them all out with fake names and account numbers, etc. He did them the same way they did him. He has a few that emailed him back and informed him that he did not enter the right account number or ss numvber etc. They did not pay any attention to the names on theses applications. He used names like Sue Yu Phishing; Son of Scam, etc. Now I take that back, one or two informed him that he mispelled his name or something like that and coule he please correct. He said he had a ball with it. Said he hasn't gotten too many any more.

I recieved one of these myself just about two months ago and decided to investige it a little further. When you get one of these just click on the link, and it will take you to a form that will ask you for all of your personal info. If you just crop the begining of their web address until .com and repaste only that it will take you to their site. The one I went to was based out of Germany. I sent a message to the contact us form telling them that I caught on to their scam and I was turning them in and within 2 days their website was completely wiped out! I felt like quite the detective! I'm sure they will just continue doing this from other sites as well and recommend everyone to take the above actions. Unless there is a real way to turn them in then by all means "have at it"! Very Happy

I also gets these .I just ignore them and delete them. If people would quit falling for them they would eventually stop doing it. Or at least THAT. I have an Ebay toolbar that will alert you if you are going somewhere that is not Ebay or Paypal.
